Vacation Rental Description
This pretty French farmhouse, dating back to 1785, is nestled halfway up a hill from a Basque farm. It is situated within enclosed grounds of three quarters of an acre. The road terminates at the entrance to the grounds making it very private and safe for children. There are beautiful views from every aspect, rolling fields grazed by sheep ewes, woodlands inhabited by the wide variety of local wildlife and picturesque views of other farms. It has been tastefully renovated to provide charming and comfortable accommodation and retains many original features. The farmhouse exudes an ambience of tranquility and warmth. Unique features include original artwork, vintage chandeliers and candelabra, antique beds and wardrobes. You can either relax in the pretty private front garden, soak up the sun by the pool or enjoy tranquil views from the rest of the grounds. Freshly prepared homemade meals can be provided upon your arrival - a sample menu is detailed below or see website for more details.
Summer in this region is usually hot with balmy summer nights during which you can prolong your evening alfresco dining, then watch the stunning constellation of stars appear in the clear night skies.
Driving in this area is generally stress free and an absolute pleasure compared to other regions and countries. Traffic jams are almost non-existent, the roads have a low density of traffic and the surrounding scenery is a joy to perceive.
Both the Basque and the Bearnaise people are renowned for pride in their culture and this is reflected in the clean, pretty and well-kept towns and villages and their warm hospitality.
Facilities
We provide linen, bath and beach towels. You will find comfortable sunloungers on the decking by the pool for relaxing in the sunshine, and oversized inflatable pool loungers for bobbing about in. Badminton set, BBQ, private enclosed garden. Wifi internet access. For you convenience and relaxation a ready prepared homemade meal of your choice can be provided on your arrival. Consisting of three courses an example menu is- Sumptuous salad with home grown herbs and cold meat platter, homemade chicken and leek pie with seasonal vegetables, apricot tart tatin with ice cream. Bread, wine, tea and coffee included. 18 Eur per adult, 8 Eur per child.

Prices are based on a maximum of 6 people. £650 all other weeks except Easter, Christmas holidays and New Year which are by negotiation. All prices quoted inc complimentary welcome pack with wine, beer, farm eggs, coffee, tea, milk, biscuits & chocolates. Complimentary bed linen, bath and pool towels, tea towels are included at the beginning of each let. Discounts for couples, please ask. Discounts for short breaks, please ask. 30% non refundable deposit on booking. For your convenience and relaxation a fresh homemade meal of your choice can be provided on your arrival. Consisting of 3 courses an eg menu is- Sumptuous salad with home grown herbs & cold meat platter, homemade chicken & leek pie with seasonal vegetables, apricot tart tatin with ice cream. Bread, wine, tea & coffee inc. 18 Eur per adult, 8 Eur per child. A damage deposit (£200) must also be paid when making final payment.
