3 Bedroom Farmhouse in Orègue

Etcheberry Borda is a historic stone cottage with the typical character of traditional Basque farms. It is situated in the lovely hilly landscape near the Pyrenees close to Biarritz and the Atlantic Ocean and embedded between fields and pastures. Its surrounding is very quiet and peaceful: a wonderful place for couples, families or friends who seek tranquillity and peaceful recreation. The natural garden with its trees and flowered bushes offers splendid views on the hills and valleys nearby. At the beginning of 2008 we developed a comfortable vacation home in here. On 100 m² you find an attractive apartment.Its floor plan is ideal for any combination from 2 to 6 persons to enjoy their holiday. There is a large eat-in kitchen, 3 cozy bedrooms, a living room and 2 bathrooms, equipped with new shower cabins, toilets and wash basins. All rooms are characterized by visible oak ceiling beams and floors in wood or terracotta tiling. The completely new furniture is bright and tasteful. Wide French windows lead from the eat-in kitchen and the living room to the large terrace with its wooden garden furniture and further to the garden which covers about 670m². 
The bedrooms have a similar bright and appealing furnishing. The clear and friendly style attractively complements the rustic elements of this historic cottage. We attached great importance to comfortable beds for your recreation. A baby bed will be available at request without extra fee. Bed linen can be rented.  
Beginning 2008 both bathrooms were completely renovated and equipped with new WC, shower cabins and wash basins. One of them is situated close to two of the bedrooms. Its tiles are white on the walls and blue green on the floor. The third bedroom has its own en suite bathroom, which is tiled in bright yellow and grey. Towels can be rented. 
The large 30 sqm eat-in kitchen is equipped with a glass-ceramic cooker, oven, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator with freezer, coffee machine and of course all you need to cook. For dining together there is a big wooden table and chairs for 6 persons. We also have a childrens high chair at your disposal. In a niche you will find an ample wall cupboard. The washing machine is hidden in a separate chamber, where you also find a steam iron and ironing board. From this central room you reach two of the bedrooms and one bathroom. A wide French window leads to the terrace with its large wooden garden table and 6 matching chairs. The third bedroom with its en suite bathroom is situated beside the living room. There you have a cosy lounge with two sofas and table, complemented by a bookshelf and TV. Also this room has a large French window to step out on the terrace and further in the garden. There you also find a large sunshade, four canvas chairs and a barbecue. 
 
Flight connections 
To fully enjoy vacation in Etcheberry Borda and its most attractive surrounding nearby the Atlantic coast, a car will be necessary. For those guests who do not want to come with their own car, a flight combined with car rental is an attractive way of travelling to this lovely region of France. There are several airports in the surrounding: from the nearest in Biarritz it takes 30 minutes, from Pau less than 1 hour, from Bordeaux or Bilbao about 2 hours and from Toulouse 2,5 hours. Especially for our guests coming from England or Ireland there are interesting low budget flight offers, e.g.: to Biarritz with Ryan Air from London Stansted, Birmingham and Dublin, with easyjet from London Gatwick and Bristol; to Pau with Ryan Air from Bristol; to Bordeaux with easyjet from London Luton, Bristol and Liverpool or with Airlingus from Dublin; to Toulouse with easyjet from London Gatwick and Bristol or with Airlingus from Dublin. This way even a short one week holiday is worthwhile!

On request a fully equipped baby bed and childrens high chair are at your disposal free of charge. Also we offer plastic dishes and cups for our small guests, as well as a baby pot and a step for the wash basin. At every change of guests the housekeeping is done by a very attentive lady from the nearby villge Bardos. She also welcomes all our guests personally and hands out the keys at arrival. If you wish you can rent bed linen and towels. The kitchen is very well equipped. Dish towels are at your disposal there.

You easily reach the beaches in about 30min. by motorway starting at 7km distance. In Biarritz the big promenade of the town, the small bays at Bidart or Guethary, the quiet bay of St. Jean de Luz or the vast beaches at Tarnos or Ondres. Traditional villages are worthwhile to visit as well as the cities Bayonne and Pau and in Spain San Sebastian Pamplona or Bilbao with its gorgeous Guggenheim Museum. 
All along the coast surfers find fantastic waves, there are lots of possibilities for horse riding and walking. Also culturally there is a lot to discover, eg. the Musée Bonnat and the Musée Basque in Bayonne, or dance and music festivals. Not to forget the markets offering fresh food and regional delicacies! 
Nearby you will find numerous golf courses along the coast. By car you can quickly and comfortably reach 11 courses within 30 to 40 minutes using the excellent freeway connection via A63 or A64. Just ask for further information.
