Vacation Rental Description
The Studio is situated in Bidart, 20 metres off the main square. It is one of seven in a typical old Basque style house.
The Studio comprises kitchen area equipped with fitted units, two burner hob, fridge, dishwasher and microwave. Bathroom with shower and bidet. The dining area has a table and four chairs. The lounge/sleeping area has a sofa-bed, 1 bed-chair and a wardrobe, TV and DVD - it sleeps 2 comfortably and 3 at a push.
There is a supervised beach which is a ten minutes walk, from here there are views over Spain and the Pyrenees. Bidart lies between Biarritz and St Jean de Luz, and is a typical Basque village, with a Fronton (pelote court), Church and Town Hall, a few shops, restaurants, bars, post office and bank.
The square hosts many local events and festivals. Biarritz is fifteen minutes by car, or a two kilometre walk along the beach. Biarritz has an
old port and harbour, sea aquarium, casino, restaurants and many shops there is also a market selling fish and local produce.
The Spanish border is fifteen minutes away, and the Pyrenees only a short drive.
The sea temparature in July and August can reach 25oC, but it is possible to swim from May to late October due to the influence of the Gulf Stream. Sea conditions can get rough giving rise to spectacular surf and annual surf competitions.
