`The Cottage` is a very well equipped, 2-bedroomed gite, set apart from our own home on our 1.2 acre site. It is very comfortably furnished, with an en suite shower room to the main double bedroom, and a house bathroom next to the twin-bedded bedroom. There is a very private, south facing covered terrace, with lovely country views. 
The 11 x 5 m. pool is just a few steps away. The large terrace provides lots of space for the guests in `The Cottage` and in `Volets Bleus`, our 1 - bedroomed gite which is in the private wing of our own home. [ 12217 ].  
Although we are very quietly situated, and have lovely country views, we are in easy walking distance of our beautiful mediaeval village; Monflanquin. 
Monflanquin is a mediaeval hilltop `Bastide` village. 
It is classified as `L`un des plus beaux villages de France`, and elected as `one of the top ten vllages of France` by the English `Daily Telegraph` travel writers. When one sees the beautiful vaulted archways surrounding the central square, one can understand why. 
It is a thriving village supporting all the services one could require - bank, post office, doctors, butchers, bakers, and a wide choice of restaurants. We also have a good sized `Casino` supermarket. Our Thursday morning market has been operating for over 700 years! 
We have lived here for over 20 years, and are well placed to offer advice/help in the buying and renovation of properties. We can also organise `new build`.  
The nearest restaurant is some 400m away, and the nearest golf course about 20 minutes away. 
This is `Castelnaud Golf`, a beautiful and challenging course. There is also a 9 hole course here. 
About 25 minutes away is `Golfe de Barthe` at Tombeboeuf. This is a 9 hole par 36. More details of these on Google.

The TV receives terrestrial programs. There is also a video and DVD player. player.There is a fridge/freezer in the kitchen. For those who like to explore, then day visits to Cahors, Bergerac, Monpazier, Domme, Les Eyzies and St. Emilion are all possible. 
Cahors is an ancient town that lies on a loop of the river Lot. Wine has been produced here foe a thousand years, and many of the vinyards welcome visitors. The old part of Bergerac is worth a visit, and a trip on the river will give a view of the birdlife, and maybe the sighting of a kingfisher. Monpazier is another lovely mediaeval hilltop village, often used by film makers when they need old street scenes. Domme sits high above the Dordogne river, and from here there are some quite wonderful views. The famous prehistoric caves of Les Eyzies have extraordinary cave paintings. Then there is St. Emilion; a beautiful village - and some beautiful wine..

Monflanquin is designated `L`un des plus beaux villages de France` and described as `One of the top 10 villages of France` by the Daily Telegraph travel writers. Our properties are beautifully and quietly situated at the southern edge of the village, and set well apart on our 1.2 acre site. There are extensive views over the contryside. It really is a beautiful spot for a restful stay.

We ask for a deposit of 1/3 rental on booking and the balance 6 weeks before arrival. Payment by cheque /banker`s draft to P.Goodwin. Payment normally in GB pounds. In case of cancellation, if we can re-let, then deposit/balance will be refunded. If we cannot, then deposit/balance will be kept. Please note : Midweek bookings may be available in Low and Mid saeson - please enquire.
