Monflanquin is a beautiful mediaeval hilltop `bastide` village. It is classified as `L`un des plus beaux villages de France` and elected `one of the top ten villages in France` by the Daily Telegraph travel writers. When one sees the beautiful vaulted arches in the central square, one can understand why. It is a thriving village supporting all the servces you require - bank, post office, doctors, butchers, bakers, bars and a wide choice of restaurants. There is a good sized Casino supermarket, and the Thursday market has been operating for over 750 years! `Volets Bleus` is a very private wing of our own home. The lounge window overlooks the pool, just a few metres away. The large terrace comfortably accommodates our visitors to `Volets Bleus`, and to `The Cottage`, our 2-bedroomed gite also quietly situated on our 1.2 acre site. [ Ref: 12319 ] .  
French windows open onto the covered terrace and the garden. Anything growing in the organic garden is available to holiday makers - just help yourself! 
Although we have lovely country views, and are peacefully situated, we are within walking distance of the village. No need to drive after a good restaurant meal. 
The nearest restaurant is about 400 metres away, and the nearest golf club about a 20 minute drive away. 
The nearest golf course is `Castelnaud Golf`, a beautiful and challenging course. There is also a par 3, 9 hole here. 
There is also a 9 hole par 36 some 25 minutes away. This is Golfe de Barthe at Tombeboeuf. 
Both are reached via pretty country roads. Further information on both these courses can be found on Google.

There is a fridge/freezer in the kitchen, and the TV provides programes in English and in French. Guest Comments : The accomodation is lovely, the pool is great, and we loved the vegetable garden. For those who like to explore, then day visits to Cahors, Bergerac, Monpazier, Domme, Les Eyzies and St. Emilion are all possible. 
Cahors is an ancient town that lies on a loop in the river Lot. Wine has been produced here for a thousand years, and many of the vinyards welcome visitors. The old part of Bergerac is well worth a visit, and a trip on the river will give a view of the birdlife, and maybe the sighting of a kingfisher. Monpazier is another lovely mediaeval hilltop village, often used by film makers when they need old street scenes. Domme sits high above the Dordogne river, and from here there are some quite wonderful views. The famous prehistoric caves of Les Eyzies have extraordinary cave paintings. Then there is St. Emilion; a beautiful village - and some beautiful wine..  
We have lived here for many years, and know the area very well. We are, therefore, well placed to offer help/ advice re buying property or land.

Our properties are beautifully and quietly situated at the southern edge of the village, and set well apart on our 1.2 acre site. There are extensive views over the contryside. It really is a beautiful spot for a restful stay.

We ask for 1/3 of rental on booking and the balance about 6 weeks before arrival. Payment by cheque payable to P. Goodwin. If a client has to cancel then, if we find a replacement, any money paid to us will be returned. If we do not find a replacement, then any money paid will be retained. Please note : Midweek bookings may be available in Low and Mid season - please enquire.
