    • Both the towns of Duras and Ste Foy la Grande have lively weekly markets and through out the year there are brocante (antique) fairs in the surrounding towns where you can find treasures from armoires to old tools and toys and 78 records and textiles. A visit to the little church of Monbos with its unusual 11C capitals, the Tour de Montaigne (Montainge (1560s) was a leading light of the french renaissance and through his essays influenced people like Shakespeare and Rouseau) the frescoes of the dammed at the 12C church in Allemans and the chateaux of Duras and la Brede are just a few of the places you might visit. Many more could be suggested.
