Vacation Rental Description
The cottage La Poterie is standing in the grounds of a traditional stone-built former wine farm, called 'La Blanchère' on 6 acres of land. It is situated in the eldest part of the property, dating back to the early 18th century and has been nicely and tastefully renovated.
La Poterie has a lot of character and is peacefully situated in the countryside in the middle of vineyards and plum orchards in the wine region of Duras. Truly the Tuscany of France, as this region is called!
From the grounds you have a beautiful panoramic view of the surrounding hills and valley and of the old town and castle of Duras. You can relax around the swimming pool (10 x 5 m) with roman steps and lovely terrace with sun loungers.
Garden furniture, picnic tables, large stone barbecue, ‘jeu de boules’ court and swing for the children. In other words a very picturesque and relaxed setting for your holidays.
Friendly but unobtrusive owners live on site.
La Poterie consists of two stories:
Ground floor: spacious living room (45 m²) with three 2-seaters as well as a large master bedroom of 22 m². An open staircase leads to the upper floor.
Upper floor: dining room annex kitchen of 26 m², one twin bedded bedroom, one bedroom with 2 single beds (each 21 m²) and a bathroom with shower, toilet and wash basin.
The gîte can accommodate a maximum of 6 adults and a baby. A cot and high chair can be added on request (free of charge).
In the grounds there is another cottage called 'La Bergerie'. This charming and authentic gîte is the smaller of the two.
The gîte consists of a living room with sleeping couch and kitchencorner, a very spacious double bedroom with lits-jumeaux and a bathroom with bath, toilet and wash basin.
The gîte can accommodate a maximum of 3 persons and a baby. A cot and high chair can be added on request (free of charge).
Both gîtes can also be rented together. If interested ask the owner for more details.
