going West to the Atlantic coast (Arcachon, Dune of Pilat); Bordeaux; the pine-tree area "Les Landes".  
going South to the Pyrenees: might be an idea for another one-day trip  
going eastwards : Toulouse and Carcassonne, Albi, the land of Cathares, etc.  
or North-East to Rocamadour, a village built on a rock ; the Padirac cave for an underground exploration.
