Vacation Rental Description
This is a modern two bedroom bungalow with 2000m2 of gardens.
It sleeps up to 6 people. It is just 10 minutes from some of the best beaches in Europe. Bordeaux airport is only 1 hour away with many low-cost airlines flying into it everyday.
The property is in a quiet location with a new large private sunbathing area, bar-b-que and extensive garden. There is a large 40ft veranda on the front which is excellent for eating and relaxing on those warm French evenings.
Inside there is a large lounge and dining room with log burning fire and 32' Sky satellite TV, together with VCR and DVD. The kitchen is fully fitted with everything you need to cook fine French cuisine. The bathroom has a large walk in shower and a second toilet. One bedroom has a double bed and the other two singles together with a second TV with video games and kids films, perfect when you need some space!!
This is our second home and as such you can rely on it to be clean, comfortable and well presented decor, all done to British taste!
Guests are also offered the use of our private lake during their stay. The lake is over 6 acres and is surrounded by vineyards. It is excellent for fishing and boating, there is also a wood and meadow for picnics. Only two miles away, is what I am told, is the best Carp fishing lake in France. With a massive stock, even I caught a fish!
The holiday centre of Soulac-sur-Mer with all the usual holiday treats is about 15 minutes by car. There is a beautiful beach with bars, shops and many fine restaurants. 10 minutes in the other direction is Montalivet, it boasts sand yachting, surfing, diving, fishing, woodland adventure park, karting, quad biking, not to mention the excellent beach with bars and restaurants.
There are first class cycle tracks to just about everywhere, and included in your stay is the use of 5 bikes to suit all ages. At Le Verdon you can catch a ferry boat to Royan with its restaurants, museums and world famous Zoo.
The area is famous for just about the best wine in Europe, if not the world. There are over 500 Chateaux, many with with tours and, of course, tasting. The local Chateau David is just a short walk away. The Chateaux of La Tour, Laffette, Mouton and Rothchilds Estates are all within a short drive.
Vensac is a small very French village with bars and restaurants and a new supermarket. On Thursday nights there is a market, just bring a plate and glass they supply the rest!!! It’s truly excellent. The property backs on to a 18th century Windmill, just 1/2 mile away, this looks like the scene from a fine old French painting, and offers tours and sells flour during the summer.
2 miles in the other direction is the market town of St Vivien, famous for its street market selling fine wine and food.
