If you're looking for a rustic, adventurous holiday somewhere a little bit different, then this is the place for you! Start your holiday with a trip on a private motor boat! Ile de Patiras is a private island paradise in the Gironde estuary. Suzi & Al, the resident English owners, warmly welcome you to this traffic & stress-free haven which will enchant the whole family. There is plenty of space for ball games, swings, a slide, sandpit, table tennis, boules, and a pool. Or just relax with one of our collection of books or DVDs! NEW FOR 2009: PETTING FARM AND PLAY AREA. 19th century vineyard estate buildings have been renovated to give 2 stunning gites. The 10m long pool is situated in a walled courtyard alongside the old wine making vats and surrounded by sunloungers and deck chairs. There are no bunk beds or box rooms here! Each gite has plenty of space, beamed ceilings, wooden or tiled floors and beautiful original stone walls and fireplaces. Ile de Patiras is situated in the Gironde, about 2km from either bank. it is the perfect place for you and your family to spend a week or two 'away from it all' with plenty of space for the kids to enjoy the kind of freedom not usually available to them. The island provides an isolated paradise where children can chase bugs, climb trees & run wild without traffic or crowds to get in their way! You can relax completely, hearing nothing but birds & moving only to cool off in the pool. The island also boasts its very own vineyard, where Thiery proudly welcomes you to taste his exclusive wine and learn a little of how it is made
Facilities
Gite d'Ile Cazeau has 2 huge bedrooms, the smaller being 20 sq.m. Sympathetically converted from an abandoned barn, we chose to leave the full sweep of the roof visible by creating a mezzanine bedroom upstairs, and leaving the main living accommodation open plan. Your rooms in Gite d'Ile Cazeau are enormous, with over 120 sq.m. of space, all newly renovated and refurbished. With cool tiled and wooden floors, traditional rustic thick stone walls and exposed beams, most of which were recycled from the original building, you will find this the ideal place to relax and enjoy a siesta out of the midday sun. Bed linen, and towels are all provided so they needn't take up valuable space in your luggage! The living room has a TV, stereo, DVDs, books and games, a sofa bed and enough comfortable chairs for everyone to relax. The kitchen is equipped with everything we could imagine you would need.
Activities
Both gites have private gardens, barbecues and beautifully furnished, private outdoor eating areas. There is plenty of space for ball games, swings, a slide, sandpit, table tennis, boules. Our pool is 10m by 5m and varies in depth from about 90cm to 2 m, with a step all the way around so it is very child friendly. The island has muddy or pebbly beaches which children love! However, just a short drive from Pauillac (30 minutes) you will find the sandy Atlantic surf beaches and Hourtin lake, where watersports activities are on offer.
Bordeaux (and its airport) is about 45 minutes drive away, and Bergerac airport is about an hour and a half's drive from us. For those arriving by car, Pauillac is around 7 hours from Caen or St Malo.

Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds. 5% discount for both gites booked together! Please contact us for prices outside these dates. Marathon du Medoc changeover dates are flexible. Price includes a free daily return boat crossing per group to Pauillac. Further return boat crossings are possible at a cost of 35 Euros each. Linen, towels, electricity, gas are all included in the price. Bookings should be made directly with us. After provisionally reserving your gite, a 25% deposit confirms your booking. Full balance of payment is due 8 weeks before the start of your holiday.
