The American style kitchen is fully equipped with cook top, oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, kettle, dishwasher and washing machine. The downstairs double bedroom with its own en-suite facilities is ideal for an elderly person. The house has underfloor heating installed and is perfect for winter use. A short drive from Verteillac there is the medieval town of Brantome where it is a delight to walk around the remarkable and ancient abbey founded by Charlemagne (742-814). With its soaring campanile this is one of the most elegant medieval and Renaissance buildings in the Dordogne.The town sits on a bend of the river Dronne and a stroll along the riverside is an unforgettable experience. Loads of brilliant restaurants complete the experience – you will come back. There are also boats trips available. 
 
Nearby is Grottes de Villars near the town are the caves with some impressive stalactites and paintings more than 17,000 years old. Nearby is the Chateau de Puyguilhem in a village of the same name.  
 
Just over the Charente border is Aubeterre sur Dronne Its charming narrow streets wind through white stone houses and ancient buildings. The most outstanding and impressive monument in Aubeterrre is the underground church of St John.

Payment made be made in Euro or Sterling(£) A deposit of £150 per week is payable with booking.The balance is payable 8 weeks before occupancy together with a deposit against breakages.This is refundable 10 days after departure. An additional charge of £50 pw is payable for heating October to April. Payment is made by bank transfer in UK in sterling or by euro. A booking form must be completed. Just ask and we will gladly send you one. Arrival is expected after 4pm and departure by 10.30am. Pets are welcome but we need to be informed Special rates for long lets - please enquire
