Vacation Rental Description
Lying within the famous Cingle of Tremolat, the properties enjoy views all around as the river winds around the loop. It is situated about a half hour drive from Bergerac Airport, or is a good days' drive from the channel ports 
 
The garden is stocked with shrubs making it pleasant to relax in, with farmland around in a pleasant rural setting. The heated 12x6m pool is in a fenced secure area, with more than an adequate area in which to stretch out and soak up the sun. We have three properties, with contemporary furnishings, well-equipped kitchens, and bedrooms for the most part en-suite. The properties are light and airy, and provide plenty of room to relax in comfort, either inside or out. Kitchens give plenty of room in which to work, with a washing machine, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, gas hob, electric oven, microwave and other useful utensil. Each has a dedicated dining area and settees/sofa bed with free to view television, a dvd and CD player. Wi fi is also available, on request. All have at least one set of garden furniture on patios, a large parasol and a gas bbq. 
 
Farmhouse- sleeps up to five, has a double bedroom en-suite with a roll top bath in a room with the traditional Perigordian Oak beams in view. There is also a further bedroom with twin beds, and bathroom with a shower cubicle, twin wash basins and toilet. The kitchen of this old farmhouse, has the old sink (evier) still installed as a feature and offers a roomy and cool area to cook, dine or relax in. It opens onto a patio area, with gas bbq and wooden garden furniture 
 
Cottage- sleeps up to six, with two bedrooms (one with a double, the other with twin beds), both rooms with an en-suite. Downstairs, there is the lounge, dining area and kitchen. To the front and rear of the property are patios which both have wooden garden furniture. It enables a choice of sun or shade, depending on the time of day and with views down to the river at the front, or in the rear, opening onto the garden. 
 
Tabac- has three bedrooms all ensuite with two bedrooms having a double bed and the other twin beds. This property has a separate kitchen and again a dedicated dining area and lounge. It also has a front and rear patio area.

  • All facilities are fairly new and in excellent condition. The pool can be heated if required, although the water temperature can reach 30degrees during June and July. The depth of the pool varies, having one end deeeper and the Roman steps are useful for small children, or for those who find difficulty in getting into a pool. Around the pool are sunbeds where you can relax, and there are facilities for shade. The pool is fenced, private and has a safety gate. We do erect a badminton net(racket and shuttlecocks are available), and have boule/petanque available, but do not allow football. Linen is provided, although pool towels are not, but can be hired.

  • This area is rich in activities, and all the listed activities can be found near our property or within a short drive. More details can be found on our website, which lists many of the above with addresses or websites. In addition, this area offers a great deal for those who prefer to seek out the sights. There are Chateaux in abundance, gardens, vinyards, grottos Lascaux is just one) all within a short drive. The area is famous for its cuisine and wines, with plenty of decent restaurants in the area. In addition, during the tourest season, various events are held at several villages, where, and for a very reasonable rate, a family can have a cheap night out. Simply attend a Marche nocturne, taking your place at a trestle table within the village square, buy your food or wine from a nearby stall,and enjoy it to live music. You can buy a piece of steak at one stall, and they'll cook it for you as you want it, then serve it to you

    We ask for £200 booking deposit and the balance to be paid six weeks before you arrive. This particular property is a Wednesday change over, but we have others on a Saturday change over. We have wifi available, and pool towels can be hired.     Owners Profile

    We bought Cour du Fleuve at the end of 2003, from an English couple who bought the buildings as a wreck. They completed much of the basic requirements, putting in the water, electric, and the septic tanks. The Farmhouse was habitable, and we lived in there during the winter, whilst we converted the rest of the property. The Cottage was completed to a basic standard, and we immediately brought that up to the standard which we wanted. We also worked on the Farmhouse the first year, so that we were able to let out two properties straight away. We also had the 12x6m pool installed. Since then, with much hard work and long days, we have renovated an old tobacco drying barn, which had a soil floor, beams and wires to hang and dry the leafs of tobacco. These became our Tabac (completed 2008), a three bedroomed all en-suite, and the Sechoir (completed (2010), a two bedroomed both en-suite, We completed them to a high standard, with a contemporary finish, and are very proud of the end result.

    We have a website, which we update every year, to give clear information to our prospective guests, and it has been complimented on many times. We're told that everything is exactly as described, and photographed, The website is designed and generally maintained by our elder daughter and partner.

    We are now working on our own area, having spent the first few seasons in our caravan. We are hoping that next year, our work will diminish and we acn spend more time looking at this beautiful area of Fracne.

    We have made many good friends, found some really excellent places to dine out, and are trying to develop some knowledge of the local wines.
