Situated in the most sought after area of the Dordogne this beautiful old house is truly our second home and holds a very special place in all of our hearts. It has been furnished to a high standed and offers every convenience, a true home from home. Concazal has been sympatheticly renovated and modernised whilst retaining all of its original character, including many exposed beams. Sarlat, Chateaux of Beynac and Castelnaud and Marquessayac, the Bastide of Domme and Roque Gageac and many river beaches,(the nearest at Cenac 4 miles away), are all within 20km. The village of Daglan is a short walk down the lane.The house has a few steps between some of the floors making it not suitable for very small children or people with severely restricted mobility.
Rooms:- Lower Ground floor: Utility Room. Ground Floor:Lounge/Diner, Kitchen/snug, Bathroom with Bath (shower over), toilet and handbasin, 1 double bedroom. First floor: 2 bedrooms 1 double, 1 twin. Mezzanine: second sitting room. The minute you walk over the threshhold of Concazal you will know that you are welcome as the house has a lovely feel to it.The log burner is in the snug which is a cosy sitting area and part of the kitchen. what could be nicer on those chillier days in early spring or late autumn to sit by a warming log fire roasting the chestnuts you have gathered. Accessed from this area is the bathroom and the ground floor bedroom which leads out through French windows to the fragrant herb garden, a bistro table and two chairs provide a perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee and croisants.How better to start your day before setting off on your Dordogne adventures! Also accessed on the ground floor is the dining area,here, in the chest of drawers are plenty of games,cards and jigsaws, in case of those odd rainy days. The two sitting rooms one a mezzanine floor, the other on a lower level have comfy sofas, and this is where the TV is to be found.There are DVDs and plenty of books to browse

Concazal is situated close to the River Céou, (a tributary of the Dordogne), and the nearby Watermill. the riverbank can be easily accessed and there is a very pretty walk running alongside it which follows the meandering Céou, depending on the season it can be a roaring torrent or you can cross via the stepping stones to the opposite bank and take a circular walk which takes you through Daglan village and back home again. The river is crystal clear and is ideal for fishing, (with a local permit) swimming and kayaking.
The people of Daglan are very friendly and extremely proud of their village. This is easy to understand when walking through it, the beauty of this ancient place is there for all to see and enjoy with it's Perigordine stone houses and public buildings. Concazal nestles in the lush Coeu valley and is a stones throw from the river which is ideal for cooling off in on hot summer days, or at dusk watching the deer come down from the hills to drink.The Dordogne, particularly the Perigord Noir features high rocky outcrops with clear rivers and is heavily forested with oak and sweet chestnut. There are almost unlimited hamlets to explore and it is said 1000 chateaux. Wonderful countryside lends itself to outdoor activities such as Canoeing, Walking, Fishing,Horse Riding, Balooning or just watching the World go by with a cup of Coffee or a glass of wine amid stunning scenery. This area known as the birthplace of modern man abounds with Natural History sites with cave paintings, prehistoric and troglodyte dwellings. Sarlat is a beautiful town with a centre which has been preserved in its 14th century glory but is vibrant and well used with plenty of shops, restaurants and bars.All of these places are within easy reach of your holiday home
