La Cachette is situated in an elevated position overlooking the village of Grolejac with wonderful views across to the Dordogne Valley.

There are 2 large comfortable double rooms (one with an additional single bed), with exposed beams and seating. Our rooms are named after two of the local chateaux, Montfort and Fenelon. Montfort is a large double with views down the valley and a large private shower room. Fenelon is a large double (with additional single bed) and an ensuite shower room. Breakfast is served on the terrace or in the beamed salon where there is a log burning fire out of season. Guests have use of a sunny terrace which is a lovely place to relax, enjoy a glass of wine, and take in the view. There is also a shady, terraced, woodland garden. We are sorry but we do not accommodate children.

There are 2 restaurants down in the village within walking distance.

We are within 15 minute drive of medieval Sarlat and close to Domme. The beautiful riverside villages of La Roque Gageac and Beynac are a short drive. Rocamadour is an hour's drive. There is so much to see and do in the Dordogne, with chateaux, picturesque villages, grottes, canoeing to name but a few. We are close to the border of the Lot region so it is also possible to explore the lovely sights that this region also has to offer. Local fetes and markets take place in almost every village in the summer.

Locally the village of Grolejac offers: an excellent cycle path which starts in the village and follows the disused railway line. You can cycle along the river valley or almost into Sarlat. We have 2 bikes for our guests to hire. There is a large lake which is safe for swimming with a sandy beach, 2 canoe hire centres operating in the village on the river Dordogne, which winds its way past the village, and a tennis court. Nearby is a golf course and horse riding facilities.

Low Season Price : €52 High Season Price : €52 per Day
Our rates are per couple, per room, per night. For a third person sharing our Fenelon room the cost is 26 Euros per night. Our prices are inclusive of a generous continental breakfast. A deposit will be required to secure a booking. We do not have credit card facilities, but deposits can be paid via Paypal. Deposits are refunded if cancellation is made up to 3 weeks prior to the start of the holiday.
