We specialise in providing self-catering holidays in our three gîtes. We pride ourselves on the high standard of our cottages and are continually upgrading them to provide our clients with the highest quality of accommodation in our class. We also offer chambre d'hote bed and breakfast accommodation by special arrangement.

Maison de la Famille is in the centre of this attractive French village, situated within the Perigord-Limousin Natural Regional Park and is a beautiful old property consisting of the main house, three self-contained gîtes (each with their own patio areas), a large walled garden with a swimming pool and a barn used as a games area. 
 
Saint-Priest-les-Fougères nestles in the foothills of the Massif Central in the north of the Dordogne, just off the N21 at la Coquille between Périgueux and Limoges. 
 
Here one can enjoy a peaceful and relaxed holiday and also take in many of the areas' attractions. There are numerous Chateaux, an abundance of prehistoric caves, lakes, markets etc. Also, for those wishing to take a slightly longer trip - Futuroscope at Poitiers, La Rochelle on the west coast, and the Distilleries at Cognac are all well worth visiting. The village itself contains a Boulangerie, Post office and a bar. Restaurants, bars, supermarkets, shops and so on are just 3 kilometres away at la Coquille. Larger shopping areas are to be found at Thiviers, Périgueux and Limoges. 
 
Maison de la Famille is a typically styled Perigordian residence of a well-to-do country family. The exact age is unclear but it is certainly over two hundred years old. Originally owned by the wealthy Breton family, members of whom still live in the region, it is easy to envisage it as it was, when coaches, stabling and a host of servants were all housed and working in the grounds. 
 
The accommodation has been sympathetically renovated and modernised, with especial care being taken to maintain the character and charm of the buildings, ensuring our guests enjoy a high degree of comfort in these most pleasant of surroundings. 
 
The swimming pool is an essential part of a summer holiday with us - always popular it is cleaned and maintained daily. 
 
Our games area houses a high-quality all-weather table tennis table, a small table football game and a combination pool, snooker, billiards, skittles, table hockey, chess, backgammon, shuffle board and table football system. We also have a quality croquet set and numerous children's toys that are freely available to our guests. 
 
* It has an attractive lounge with a feature fireplace, and incorporates a kitchen/dining area. 
* A comfortable & large double bedroom, that can also easily accommodate a cot or a single bed. 
* Shower room with washbasin and WC. 
* The cosy feature lounge is furnished with a convertible sofa. 
* The kitchen is equipped with a microwave oven, a gas cooker and a refrigerator. 
* All electricity and gas costs are included in the rental charge. 
* Euipped with a French terrestrial television & a DVD player. 
* Private patio area with sun loungers. 
* Barbecues with all necessary tools and utensils are supplied. all you need to bring is fuel & food! 
* Books and indoor games are readily available. 
* Each cottage has direct access onto the garden and the shared pool area, and garden furniture. 
* There is a hall with doors leading to Barn Cottage, therefore making it easy to configure both cottages for one large party of six to eight guests (note: we require one Booking Form per cottage) 
* Internet access is available. WiFi Broadband connectivity for those who must stay in touch!

Maison de la Famille provides a comprehensive Service Wash facility. We can also provide Welcome Packs on arrival, ensuring you don't have to rush about shopping or cooking as soon as you arrive. This part of France is absolutely steeped in history - there are numerous museums and history trails to follow (Richard the Lionheart was killed but a few miles away)as well as a plethora of Chateaux, Donjons and Fortresses to visit. 
 
Local attractions include Karting, Donkey Trekking, Gold-panning and of course, visiting the famous Bordeaux vineyeards and Cognac distilleries - tasting samples is almost a compulsory obligation!
