Our farmhouse in Aillac is a spacious, stone farmhouse offering comfortable accommodation for a holiday rental for up to 11 people in four bedrooms. It has been renovated with all the character maintained. The 10m by 5m private swimming pool is fully terraced and alarmed and is for your exclusive use. The farmhouse is completely private, set in 7 acres of its' own grounds within the Perigord-Limousin National Park.

Aillac is a small hamlet of houses in the commune of St. Pierre de Frugie. It is situated on the edge of the Dordogne, bordering the Limousin. The cities of Limoges and Perigueux are approximately 40 minutes away. We are just 5 kms from either La Coquille or Chalus for everyday shopping and services. Limoges airport is 40 minutes away by car, so we are secluded without being isolated. Aillac has everything you need for a relaxing time in the heart of the French countryside.

The Farmhouse is set in 7 acres of meadows and woodland and is the perfect choice for those seeking peace and tranquility. The 10m by 5m swimming pool is for the exclusive use of guests and is completely private. It is situated in the south facing back garden, well placed to enjoy sun all day whilst relaxing in the peaceful surroundings. There are plenty of outside eating areas, in sun or in shade. There is a large lawn area and neighbouring meadow and woods to explore. At the front of the farmhouse there are ample shady spots to park several cars.

The large traditional farmhouse Kitchen/Dining Room is a perfect area to unwind during a long French lunch. Traditional features include a vast open fireplace with woodburning stove and exposed beamed walls and ceiling. The Dining Room table seats up to ten. Appliances include an electric cooker with gas hob, American fridge freezer, microwave, washer-dryer and dishwasher.

The main living room is some 30 sq metres but retains a cosy feel with a woodburning stove. It is a lovely cool room in summer but very warm and comfortable in winter. It has a large 42" TV for viewing British television if you fancy a night in after a day in the sun. It also has a CD Player and DVD player/recorder. The French doors open out onto the extensive gardens.

There are four large bedrooms over two floors. The master bedroom (30 sq m) is a lovely dual aspect room with superking size bed and exposed beams on ceiling and walls. There is a magnificent open fireplace in the bedroom and a door leading directly to the upper garden. This is a fantastic place to watch the early morning wildlife as you look over the pool.

Bedroom 2 (30 sq m) is also on this floor. It has twin beds and is also dual aspect, overlooking the front and side gardens.

The main bathroom has been recently refitted to include a modern white bathroom suite, comprising a bath and a powerful walk-in shower.

On the top floor there are two further bedrooms and bathroom. Bedroom 3 (25 sq m) has a double bed and a single bed (sleeping 3), a Football table and PS2 with some games. Bedroom 4 (20 sq m) has 2 sets of twin beds (sleeping 4) , a small TV, video recorder and a PS1 with games. We have a Travel cot available for use if required.

The second modern bathroom comprises a white bathroom suite with an over-bath shower.

This is an ideal location for those who enjoy nature in unspoilt surroundings. You can play football in the garden, read in the shade or sit under the parasols a drink, overlooking the pool. There is a gas barbeque for your use.

There is a rich variety of flora and fauna - many different birds, toads, salamanders, lizards, wild deer and rabbits. The Sweet Chestnut tree has a resident Green Woodpecker nesting, and the Blue and Great tits have made a home of our wall by the table. If you fancy a bit of exercise, there are plenty of established walkways in the surrounding countryside.

Arrival and departure days are restricted to Saturdays from May through to August but are flexible during lower season. Please contact us for details. Rental rates are for the whole house for up to 11 people for seven nights. Prices are inclusive of all electricity, gas, water, linen and towels. Guests are requested to bring their own towels for the pool area. A 20% non-refundable deposit is required to secure the booking. Final payment is required 8 weeks prior to arrival date and should include an additional £200 security deposit which will be refunded upon confirmation that the property has been left in a good and clean condition. We recommend you take out appropriate insurance to cover the duration of your holiday.
