Chauffour gites are beautiful self catering holiday cottages located in the Dordogne countryside in south west France. We have four gites that can be rented individually or together for large groups. La Ferme is our large 5 bedroom farmhouse, the delightful 3 bedroom La Grange, our 2 bedroom gite, La Porcherie and the 4 bedroom La Petite Maison.
All of our gites are set in large, mature gardens complete with swimming pool.
Chauffour gites are in a peaceful hamlet and surrounded by sunflower fields and vineyards. Just a few minutes away are the villages of Allemans and St. Severin where you can find bakeries, banks, post office and a supermarket. The bustling market town of Riberac, famed for its huge Friday market, is just 10 minutes away.
We're 1 hour from Angouleme and Bergerac, 1.5 hours from Bordeaux, 2 hours from Limoges. The new airport at Brive, due to open shortly, is also within easy reach. Ryanair, Easyjet and Flybe all offer low cost flights from the UK, and Air France and Aer Lingus offer flights from Dublin, Ireland into Bordeaux. The ferry ports of St. Malo and Caen are all within a comfortable days drive making Chauffour ideally placed for your holiday in the Dordogne.

We live discreetly on-site with our young family and are happy to offer as much or as little assistance as you need. With two children of our own, we fully understand family life and accommodation at Chauffour has been designed with children in mind.
To make your vacation as relaxing as possible, we also offer a Dinner on Arrival and speciality Pizza and Dining Club events. Relaxation, Massage and Reflexology is also available in the comfort of your gite.
Facilities
La Ferme gite is a fantastic 17th century farmhouse which offers versatile accommodation and can sleep up to 12 in comfort; perfect for groups, families with children or a couple of families sharing. On the ground floor we have a large kitchen, perfect for self catering, with dishwasher, fridge, microwave, double oven and hob. There is also a wonderfully spacious lounge and separate dining room with seating for up to 12. Both rooms have french doors leading onto the terrace. There is also a large bathroom with jacuzzi bath and walk-in shower. On the first floor we have 3 fantastic double bedrooms, two of which can accommodate a cot or child bed, and a shower room with toilet - on the second floor we have two twin rooms ideal for the children with a further bathroom. All guests have access to the fenced 12m x 6m swimming pool, complete with safety ledge for less confident swimmers.
Activities
There are numerous things to do and places to visit - Brantome is a beautiful town on the River Dronne with Hautefort Chateau nearby. Aubeterre is a beautiful village with an underground church to visit, river beach and cafes in the square. The lake at Lake Jemaye has a supervised beach and safe swimming along with cafe/snack bar, trim trail and kayaking. Riberac is a lovely town to stroll round the square, enjoy a drink in the cafes and visit the famous Friday market and taste all the local flavours of France. Periguex the capital of the Perigord is about 45 minutes away - enjoy visiting the cathedral and strolling round the old town with plenty of shops and good value restaurants.
We have our own canoe and can offer accompanied or non accompanied trips down to the river and dare to have a go on the rope swing!! Borrow our bikes or just go for a walk and enjoy the lovely countryside.
There is something for everybody in this beautiful part of the Dordogne.

Please see our website for further pricing dependant on which gite you are interested in. We accept bank transfer or payment by paypal and ask for a 25% deposit on booking with full payment 8 weeks before the holiday starts. We ask for a returnable personal cheque on arrival as a security deposit.
