La Croix offers a comfortable base to explore one of the most beautiful parts of the Dordogne.The garden is filled with evening primrose, hollyhocks and buddleia through the spring and summer which attract many butterflies, notably scarce swallowtail. The spacious balcony allows ample room to eat al fresco with a commanding view as the sun sets over rolling countryside. Aubeterre, one of 'Les beaux vllages de France' is only 15 minutes drive away.It holds great historical interest and has its own river on the River Dronne. There are many good restaurants within easy reach and Riberac market on a Friday morning is essential!! The accommodation is in two very separate areas, suitable for families and friends, but can be entirely independant.The farmhouse can accommodate four comfortably and the gite is ideal for two, with an option of a third on a 'put-you-up' if required.La Croix is excellent for relaxing 'away from it all' amongst beatiful countryside. An artists paradise! The farmhouse has a large traditional kitchen with a table that would seat eight comfortably. There is a door through to a double bedroom on the ground floor with ensuite shower and wc. You also walk from the kitchen into a spacious and comfortable sitting room with french windows that lead onto a north facing balcony on which it is possible to lay a table for al fresco dinner as the sun sets away to the west. A spiral staircase leads up to big double bedroom which is the entire width of the farmhouse with a west facing large circular window at the gable end. Bath and wc are screened within the room. The gite is entirely separate with a kitchen off to a small sitting room with comfy sofa,table and chairs and TV. You walk through the kitchen to a large double bedroom and then out onto a spacious balcony.As you go through to the bedroom there is a shower room to your left and a wc and wash basin to your right.

    • La Croix currently has a 5 metre stand alone pool set below the property. It is set so that the view can be enjoyed at the same time. There are a variety of sun loungers and recliners to relax and take in the many facets and areas of the garden.

    • There is an excellent 18 hole golf course 10 minutes drive away at Pillac and also for fun there is a crazy golf course close by. The River Dronne offers a variety of watersport oppurtunities notably kayaking. The beach at Aubeterre is an ideal opportunity to enjoy safe river swimming. There are trees to provide shade and a small restaurant for refreshments.Little traffic allows pleasant roads and tracks for cycling with a share of gentle hills
