Vacation Rental Description

Eucalyptus is a pretty 300 year old cottage whose exposed stone walls and oak beams give this 'petite maison' lots of character. Steps lead up to the elevated entrance give it a feeling of privacy despite being in a small complex with 4 other gites. (For those wishing to avoid steps, please see 'Magnolia' our ground floor apartment' next door to Eucalyptus). The front door of Eucalyptus cottage leads into the open-plan living area, with comfortable arm chairs and sofa, a dining table and chairs and fitted kitchen. On the first floor, the bedroom gains much character from the sloping ceiling and original oak beams. Off the bedroom is a modern shower and toilet.

The kitchen area: equipped with fridge, electric oven, gas hob, microwave, toaster, kettle and a good range of utensils. Laundry facilities are located to the rear of the cottages.

Stairs lead up from the living area to the comfortable, double bedroom and ajoining shower room. The traditional steep sloping roof of the Perigord and dormer window, give lots of character

Travel Info: We are situated in the Perigord Noir, sandwiched between the Vezere valley at Les Eyzies and the Dordogne valley at St. Cyprien. Sarlat is approximately 15 - 20 minutes drive away. We are less than 500m from the centre of the medieval village of Meyrals, & its facilities.

Tilleul is one of 5 gites at Le Jardin des Amis, a renovated former farm located in the village of Meyrals. This is the perfect location being only 10 minutes drive to the prehistoric sites of Les Eyzies and less than 20 minutes to the medieval town of Sarlat. Meyrals is sandwiched between the Dordogne river with its wonderful castles & bastides, and the Vezere river, with canoeing available on both.
From Le Jardin des Amis, it is only a short stroll to the village centre with its traditional boulangerie, new boucherie (butchers shop), post office, bar, 2 restaurants, pottery and artists workshops/galleries. For keen walkers or cyclists it is possible to pick up some of the well-signposted routes from our gateway.

Rental Rates

				Low Season Price:	€450 per Week
				High Season Price:	€675 per Week

A 25% deposit is required in order to confirm provisional bookings. The balance is due 6 weeks before the start of the holiday. Please note that rental is accepted in Euros only. Payment can be made by credit card, PayPal, bank transfer or cheque (Euro only). Please ask us for details. Prices shown in the table above are for 7 nights accommodation and use of pool. Linen and towels are provided; towels for use by the pool may be available for hire on request (please ask in advance).
A security deposit of 150 Euros is payable on arrival. This deposit (less any deductions for breakage, excess cleaning, etc.) will be returned within 14 days of your departure.
Your cottage will be clean and tidy on your arrival and we request that it is left in the same condition upon your departure. Full cleaning equipment and products are provided.

We have been living in France since 2007 and since that time have gained a good knowledge of the local tourist sites: which ones are suitable for history enthusiasts, those aimed at children, the great geological sites and even those where you can take your dog along! We are always happy to advise if required and can make bookings for canoe hire, restaurants visits etc. If your french isn't as good as you'd like. each cottage has a folder of local information and our pool bar has a range of guide books and local maps which can be borrowed.
As well as trying local restaurants ourselves, we like to gather reviews from our guests to pass on - the good or the not-so-good!
