The house which sleeps up to 6 in 3 double bedrooms is situated approx 1km from the small hamlet of Campsegret & 12kms North of Bergerac just off the N21. The heated 10 x 5m pool benefits from the sun all day with uninterrupted views across the valley and ample lounging chairs etc. There is a fully equipped kitchen with double sink, hob with 4 gas rings, electric oven and grill, fridge/freezer and electric kettle. A washing machine is situated behind the curtain in the utility area. There are place settings, cutlery and glassware for 6 people, together with the usual array of kitchen cooking utensils and pans etc. The lounge/dining area has a dining table and chairs seating 6, 2 dining room units, 3 seater settee, 3 relaxing chairs, freeview satellite & French TV, radio/cd/cassette player, with a few cds and tapes. We also have a few games and jigsaw, if required. There is also a log burning stove in the lounge and two French windows opening out onto the terrace. There is a bathroom, shower room and toilet with wc & wash hand basin. The bathroom has a twin basin vanity unit and a bath with shower, electric razor/hair dryer socket and electric wall heater. The shower room has a shower, wash hand basin, wc, razor socket and wall heater. The yellow and blue double bedrooms both have French windows leading onto the terrace at the front of the house giving panoramic views over the garden to the valley beyond. Both have wardrobes, bedside tables, lamps & chairs. The 3rd double bedroom is west facing and is also comfortably furnished with pine wardrobe, chair, chest of drawers and bedside table with lamp. All the French windows in the house open out onto a long terrace at the front the house, which has a few steps down to both the pool and the large lawn area with bushes, shrubs and numerous trees giving shade from the sun in the summer heat. At the rear there is also a large enclosed tiled veranda. Flying to Bergerac is now easy as there are daily flights from Stansted/Bristol/ Southampton/Birmingham/Exeter & Liverpool with Flybe or Ryanair & weekly from Edinburgh. BA has at least twice daily flights to Bordeaux from Gatwick. We have used Bergerac & Bordeaux airports and found both to be excellent. Bergerac airport is 25 minutes from the house while Bordeaux airport to La Groussie is at least a 1½ hour's pleasant drive through some of the Bordeaux wine growing countryside, passing St Emilion on the way or using the new auto route link to Musidan. It is possible to hire a car from any of the major rental companies at both Bordeaux & Bergerac Airports. A few of the car hire companies also have offices in Bergerac. There is a frequent daily train service from Bordeaux to Bergerac. Bread and a limited supply of groceries can bought in the boulangerie/alimentation in Campsegret. The hamlet also has a tennis court, an area for boule, a wine cave, church, garage and 2 restaurants.

Bergerac, on the banks of the river Dordogne is only 15 minutes drive away and offers many varied tourist attractions. The old parts of the town have been exquisitely restored and renovated with pedestrian precincts, interesting shops, picturesque lanes and charming leafy squares of half timbered 14th century buildings. There are many varied restaurants to choose from. It also boasts a large cathedral, wine and tobacco museums. Colourful markets are held around the Eglise Notre-Dame and in the Place Gambetta on Wednesday and Saturday mornings. Departing from Quai Salvette there are daily boat trips on the Dordogne on historic Gabares. Within a short distance you will find some of the world's most renowned vineyards - Monbazillac, St. Emilion, Pomerol, to the South Cahors and of course on our own doorstep the wines of Bergerac that are usually either strong palatable reds, rosés or dry whites. There are some golf courses in the area.
