Le Peyrat is is a self catering gite, ideal for children and adults. A newly converted barn positioned in 2 acres of mature gardens with a private securely fenced pool. The property has been extremely tastefully renovated, many of the original features have been maintained and it has all the modern comforts. The property is spacious, there are five well apportioned bedrooms with en suites, a sixth bedroom for the children with changing facilities, cots are available. The living area is centered on a beautiful open minstrel gallery, Louis XIV style, with a stunning chandelier. There is a large well equipped kitchen and dining area opening onto a terrace with a stream running beneath it, ideal for relaxing. The village boasts a superb bar, ancient church,village shops and tennis courts, all just a 5 minute stroll away. The Dordogne is renowned for its wine, climate and history and Le Peyrat is perfectly situated to sample them all. The historic towns of Bergerac and Perigueux and famous vineyards of St Emilion are all within a 35 minutes drive Or if you want to venture further, the exciting city of Bordeaux with its beautiful architecture and fabulous shops is 50 minutes drive. Shopping in the bustling markets is a must there is a market on every day in the local towns Le Peyrat is nestled between two rivers the Dordogne to the South or the Isle to the North, both offer canoeing, fishing, and various other activities. St Foy la Grande is officially recognised as one of the 100 best in France, the narrow 12th century streets come alive every Saturday morning to the sites, sounds and smells of a fantastic market that seems to sell just about anything you can think of! Spend an hour or two wandering round then head for the central square for a coffee or a beer and watch the world go by. During the summer months night markets are a must ! The nearest town Montpon, is nestled on the river Isle, a 7km drive, boasts a large Hypermarket, and various other shops, a large market is held every Wednesday and winds through the town. Or if you want to venture further, the exciting city of Bordeaux with its beautiful architecture and fabulous shops is 50 minutes drive. Archachon on the Atlantic coast, is a 90 minute drive, but worth a visit from its abundance of fish food restaurants, famous dunes and amazing beaches.
There are two fantastic 18 hole golf courses within 30 minutes drive of house, Chateux Vigier is a beautiful golf 18 course and spa, with a fantastic restaurant, the second at Marsac is set amongst forests. There are several excellant golf course within a 50 minutes drive.
