Vacation Rental Description
Fondaumier Cottage (sleeps 8) is set on 12 acres of rolling Dordogne countryside with glorious views across the valley to farms, fields and forests. It has a private garden and sun terrace and shares the large swimming pool, children’s play area and wonderful views.
The Cottage is a recent conversion of half of a huge barn. It has been constructed in the local style to retain the beautiful golden stone walls and provide cool porcelain flooring. Oak beams add character to the ceilings and the stairway to the four large bedrooms upstairs. Approached from the parking area in front through a mass of flowers in pots, barrels and troughs entry is to an open-plan lounge/diner with traditional perigordian fireplace. The kitchen is off the main room and provides lovely views across the garden. The rear of the cottage faces east and the terrace attracts the morning sun, ideal for al fresco breakfasts and afternoon and evening barbecues when you are looking for some respite from the hottest part of the day. The garden provides lots of play and lounging space and a huge walnut tree for shade. It is a gentle stroll to the poolside and the play area.
The pool is 10 metres by 5 metres. The play area offers swings, climbing rope and ladder. Sun loungers, garden tables and chairs and barbecue equipment is provided for each property.
