Bergerac 
 
Drive via Bergerac to Montbazillac (visit the chateau) and then to Pomport to a wine tasting at Château Bélingard (you may need to book first), Sigoules, Saussignac, Duras and then back via Eymet and Mouleydier. 
 
St Emilion 
 
Drive via Bergerac and Saint Foy la Grande to St Emilion, stopping on the way at Velines to buy Limoges porcelain at good prices behind les Jardins de Sardy (gardens). Visit a lovely shop selling leather bags and belts right in the centre of St Emilion. Lunch in St Emilion or if not on the way back at Port Sainte Foy. 
 
Monbazillac 
 
Famous for its vineyards, chateau and food - a place worth a visit. 
 
Set in the heart of the prestigious vineyard of the same name, the Château de Monbazillac's garden terraces afford stunning views across the Dordogne valley. 
 
Aquitaine is a Famous wine producing area in the beautiful historic part of south west France. Just an hour and a half from the coast and two hours from the Pyrenees and with the Dordogne meandering through its towns and countryside it makes for the perfect location to spend a restful break or your long awaited annual holiday. 
 
In the summer months the temperatures can reach 40 degrees so spending time by your private pool is both peaceful and relaxing. In the spring, autumn and winter months you can tour the area and visit some incredible sights from the start of prehistoric man to exquisite gardens but you will always be within reach of delightful French cuisine and the local wines. 
 
With the local airport only 15 mins from the house you can fly from destinations in the UK directly to Bergerac and be in your holiday home within a few hours. Hire cars are readily available at the airport and are reasonably priced.
