La Tuquette is set in its own grounds of more than one acre with wooded areas to the side and rear. It has beautiful views over the vineyards and surrounding countryside to the front. 
 
There is a 10m x 5m swimming pool immediately adjacent to the house. In accordance with the French Law, an immersion alarm has been installed to safeguard our guests. The pool was built in 1998 and has the added feature of Roman style, walk-in steps. 
 
Inside the house there is a bathroom situated on the ground floor off the hallway. At the end of the hallway you will find the lounge and kitchen, which have beamed ceilings. The kitchen has fitted units and is fully equipped, including split-level cooker (gas hob, electric oven) dishwasher, washer and fridge with freezer compartment. There is also a toaster, electric kettle, sandwich maker, microwave – everything you might expect to have in your Kitchen, plus iron and ironing board. There is an oblong table and chairs if you prefer to eat indoors.  
 
The lounge is divided into two parts with connecting archway. Through the archway there is a metal action double bed settee, which is easy to use. In the lounge there is a television and DVD player and English satellite TV. 
 
The main bedroom with double bed and en suite shower room is off the lounge. This bedroom has fitted wardrobes and a patio door leading to the garden and pool area. 
 
In a corner of the lounge there is the staircase leading to the upstairs bedrooms, one of which has two single pine beds and a cot, a wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside cabinet. This bedroom overlooks the pool and front garden. The second upstairs bedroom has two single beds with matching wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside cabinets. This room overlooks the garden at the side of the house. All the beds have sprung mattresses and bed linen and duvets are provided (non feather).  
 
For your added safety smoke alarms have been fitted and for cooler days there is oil-fired central heating. 
 
Electricity, water plus bottled gas is included with the price, together with all bed linen, as we know that taking your own bedding on holiday can be a nuisance. However, please bring your own personal towels and tea towels. These are not provided in the interests of hygiene. 
 
La Tuquette is situated just outside a tiny Hamlet called Puyguilhem on the Ste Foy la Grande (pronounced Santa Fwa!) to Eymet road in the southern part of the Dordogne, almost on the border with Lot et Garonne. It is set in beautiful countryside with a vineyard at the bottom of the garden. It is an ideal location for exploring the surrounding area and visiting the numerous ancient towns and villages. There is a leisure park with water sports and a water chute near Duras. If you have access to the internet, this website will give you some ideas about things to do locally: www.latuquette.com together with information about ferries and flights to Bergerac Airport.  
 
La Tuquette is approximately 9 kilometres from the ancient bastide town of Eymet where you will find a wonderful boulangerie selling mouth-watering croissants and pain au chocolat. If you enjoy cricket, Eymet has a cricket team whose ground is near to the Gendarmerie. 
 
Just about every town has a weekly market and sometimes in the summer Eymet has a night market as well. The variety of goods available is absolutely amazing. The markets are truly old-fashioned with charming elderly locals selling produce so cheaply that you almost feel ashamed not to offer more. 
 
Further afield, athough not really very far away, are the larger towns of Ste Foy la Grande and Bergerac, where you will find a more extensive range of goods. Also, for a day out it is well worth visiting Perigeux with its narrow, cobbled streets where you can find almost anything you can think of.

There is ample garden furniture and facilities for eating meals outdoors, including a large barbeque on the patio. The kitchen has fitted units and is fully equipped, including split-level cooker (gas hob, electric oven) dishwasher, washer and refridgerator. The nearest town with restaurant, Boulangerie and supermarket is Sigoules, which is 6Km away. It also has a post office, pharmacie and medical centre.

Mountain bikes can be hired from The Mountain Bike Company. They will deliver and collect and will alo provide protective headgear. The countryside around La Tuquette is beautiful with little or no traffic ... perfect for cycling. 
 
Chateau Vigiers is a stunning hotel and golf course within 10Km of La Tuquette.

Balance is due 8 weeks before holiday, plus £100 security deposit. It is advisable to take out a Travel Insurance Policy with a Cancellation clause, which may enable you to recover the deposit in the event that you need to cancel your holiday. A telephone is available at the property. Call charges will be deducted from damages deposit within 14 days of holiday's end. The rental period shall commence at 1600hrs (4pm) local time on the first day and end at 1000hrs (10am) local time on the last day. The Owner shall not be obliged to offer the accommodation before the stated time and the Client shall not be entitled to remain in occupation after the stated time.
