a hairdrier and an iron in the utility room for you to use.
The Annex is £170 per week in May and June and £ 250 per week in July. It is what you would call a studio with a main room (double bed, dining area, armchairs with TV), a kitchen off to one side (with washing machine) and then shower room/toilet through the kitchen. It is an extension on the end of the old farmhouse. There is a fenced garden and a pool. Views over our fields and the neighbour's vineyard. All electricity, linen and a few simple things in the fridge so that you don't starve on arrival are included in the price.
The Converted Barn (£ 750 per week in July and August)
The Barn is stone built and the original building
is probably about 300 years old. It consists of a main sitting/ dining room with a large
double bedroom (small picture attached) on the same level. This bedroom
has an ensuite bathroom (bath, shower, toilet, bidet, washbasin). Upstairs
there is a twin room with its own en-suite shower room/toilet and a further
single bedroom. The kitchen is to one side of the
main room and is separated from it by the original cow-byre/ feeding
stalls made into a bar. Linen, towels, gas and electricity are supplied. There is a
washing m/c in an adjacent barn for you to use.
Outside there is a small south-facing patio with outside
table and chairs shaded by a plum tree. The patio is surrounded by a fence
and you can park right by the fence. In the surrounding garden there is a
BBQ and a pool (10 by 5 metres with wide steps -small picture attached).
The pool has a cover which can be slid back, the cover is partly for the
safety of small children but also acts as a greenhouse and heats the
water (32 C last summer).
Horse riding. We have 10 horses and ponies for guests to ride with professional instruction to British Horses Society safety standards
For riders it must be safety first at all times. We assess all riders to
ensure that they can cope safely. We insist on hard hats to the current
standard and boots or shoes with a smooth sole and small heel. We have some
to lend but cannot guarantee that they will fit you properly.
On our farm you can walk the scenic 46 acre private land and river frontage
with a lot of wildlife to see (especially deer and buzzards). There are
orchids (Early Purple Orchid and Bee Orchid) and other wild flowers to be
found in the Spring; we have found Purple Toothwort and the Cowslips do
well. You can ride one of our well chosen horses or ponies. Louise is
registered with the British Horse Society and teaches to their standards.
She has experience of teaching all abilities. There is the opportunity to
ride the fields, woods and tracks on our farm. For those with enough
experience we can offer hacking through nearby forests and through very
rural villages. Picnic rides on the farm or in the forest can be arranged.
We have a dog, a cat and some chickens.
