Vacation Rental Description
This 12 century restored house is located in the beautiful Castrum of Belves. On 2 floors with pretty courtyard garden. On ground floor there is a bedroom and separate large lounge and bathroom (no bath). The kitchen is on this floor also. Upstairs is a lounge of 27 m2 with a balcony and a spacious bedroom with bathroom (no bath).
The property is peacefully hidden away behind the hustle and bustle of the main square, where only the birds can be heard and the neighbours exchanging recipes. Also, pins can be heard dropping!!
Being only 25 mins away from Sarlat there are plenty of activities for the culturally interested. I.e. prehistory, the grottes, the rocks etc. Also not forgetting the beautiful Dordogne and Vezere rivers. One can go canoeing or take the tourist boat at Beynac Castle. There are night markets, every night of the week in the surrounding areas and Belves. Day markets too. The night markets are very jolly, with music and dancing on the Square, where one can purchase a meal and take it back to your table. You can bring your own wine if you like.
Saturday morning is the day for the locals to come up to the Belves market for a gossip and a coffee in the bars.
