Windsurfing, snorkelling, jet skiing, waterskiing, parascending, boat trips, sailing, speedboat hire and “banana” rides are all available from the fine beach at Coral Bay, just 3 miles from Peyia. PADI-accredited diving schools offer courses and organised dives. There is a waterpark in Paphos. There are also tennis courts, a go-kart track and a bowling alley.
The mountains and the Akamas National Park offer bird watching, hiking, mountain biking, quad biking and Jeep safaris. Skiing in the Troodos mountains is possible in winter.

Cyprus has a wealth of archaeological and historical sites to visit, including the Paphos mosaics, the Tombs of the Kings, the ancient city of Kourion and Kolossi Castle, where King Richard the Lionheart of England was married. There is also an abundance of Orthodox monasteries in Cyprus, many having impressive collections of Byzantine religious art.
