Peyia in Paphos is located on the South West coast of the beautiful island of Cyprus and as such enjoys a typical Mediterranean climate, a favourite of visitors from Europe and Middle East, the former seeking the sunshine and heat sometimes missing from their climate at home and the latter escaping the oven baking temperatures experienced at the height of their summer.
Fabled for being the birthplace of the Goddess of Love, Aphrodite, there are many representations of her amongst the historic sites that exist on the Cyprus, with many of these being found in the Paphos District.

Within a short drive, you can find a modern, purpose built, go-karting complex, stables, a reptile park and animal and bird sanctuary to keep the kids happy on those days when giving the sun-bathing a miss.
You can choose to venture further by extending your drive past St. Georges to the relatively rugged Lara Bay and here you will find a well known fish taverna, much frequented by the locals on a Sunday lunchtime, and the ‘Last Castle of Viklari’ restaurant, where booking is advisable as it can also get crowded.
Be warned, if you venture much further a 4 x 4 vehicle is recommended. If you continue you can find your way through the Akamas peninsular to Latchi with the Baths of Aphrodite close by and further on, the town of Polis situated on the North coast. Without a 4 x 4 vehicle these places can be visited by taking the main road directly over the hill from Peyia to Polis.
