The Ardennes offer vast open spaces for outdoor activities. As well as many local walks, it is also wonderful countryside for cycling, horseriding and fishing. There is a wealth of local places to visit, including many castles, monasteries and caves. The apartment is a great base for visiting other parts of Belgium and neighbouring countries. Brussels is only one hour to the north and the beautiful medieval city of Bruges can be visited on a day trip. The lovely Grand Duchy of Luxembourg is one hour to the south and from there it is only another half hour to Germany's oldest city, Trier. In addition, France (Champagne-Ardennes region)is just 30 minutes away.
