I rented at Massey for six months and was pleased with my stay. Finding a place from the U.S., site unseen, can be a very scary proposition, however, the owner understood this scenario and provided additional pictures, video and answered all my questions. Her responsiveness to inquiries were prompt and the fact that she visits her property three times a year, allowed me the opportunity to meet her twice during my lease. During both visits, she had items done such as painting and cushioning dining chair legs to lessen noise on the tile floors. The condos were as described with the beach two blocks away and conveniently located for walking to town. I enjoyed my "temporary home".

I stayed at this condo for 10 days in late 2011. The unit is exacly as advertised and I believe the one I stayed in is the one from the photos. The units are extremely clean and up to date. I was impressed as this unit was the cleanest I stated in during my 6 months in Costa Rica. There is a restaurant, mini-mart and grocery within walking distance. The neighbors are more permanent residents and were real nice. The washer/dryer worked well and there is even a barbecue grill. Playas del Coc is a nice size community and much more calm than Jaco or Quepos. I suggest shopping for groceries early in your stay as there is a full kitchen and the restaurants are a bit pricey. If you need anything the property manager, Harvey, will be sure to help you out. He did a great job and runs a smooth operation. Also, Dorothy, is the owner and was real easy to work with. I will be sure to stay there again when I return to Playas del Coco in Sprinmg 2012.

Living at Coco Beach Costa Rica.
My first time at CR my living there for six months was a surprising but lovely experience.
Costa Rica is not as enexpensive as Mexico, therefore [surprise] to me the first time I went grocery shopping, but once I learned where to go, [groceries, fish market, Liberia trips life and living in CR became very enjoyable and lovely.
Massey was a small condo development, [eighth Studios] the tenants were quiet, friendly. The owner was very attentive to our needs and requests.
The studios are well furnished and clean, there is also maid service once a month. Fenny the condo maid is very good at her work, if you need extra cleaning besides once a month use her, this will help her very much financially.
There is a small pool right outside your door where you can cool off specially during the hot months fo March an April.
Windows have screens which is wonderful if you want to leave windows open and enjoy the singing of the birds in the morning and hear the waves braking at the shore, my windows were always open, night and day. When too hot there is a ceiling fan.
For the month of March and April you might need air-condition, every studio has one!
The manager, Harvey will pick any one coming trough Liberia and living for a fee...[around $30.00 US funds] he is kind and will wait until you have been checked in before he will leave to make sure you are getting on you flight and all is well.
Enjoy your stay at the Massey Studios if you decide to go and visit Coco Beach, Costa Rica!

I am retired and have been living in Costa Rica for 7 months now. Massey is the third and by far the best living situation I have had since my arrival last September.
What I value most is peace and quiet. That is here at Massey. I do not hear barking dogs or loud, drunken, brawling and drug taking tenants as I did at Jaco Beach while living there.
The physical location for me is excellent. A park is next door which attracts birds among them doves who are constantly cooing.
It is a short 2 block walk to Coco beach where I spend 2 hours each day walking the beach or swimming. The beach is uncrowded and excellent for swimming which is one reason I moved here.
The building's owner is a very serious and I would think successful real estate professional. She is quite attentive to tenant's needs and actually does what you reasonably ask of her. Her property manager who lives close by is also very conscientious, meticulous and helpful as he will take you to the airport in Liberia or pick you up as he has done with me for a price of course. The onsite maintenance man manicures the fauna and keeps the grounds spotless and pleasing to the eye. Once a month, the maid will clean your studio and she actually cleans it deeply and thoroughly not just make your bed and give you fresh towels.
It is very tempting for me who loves to travel to rethink that as I have found such a comfortable place to live. I might add that the town is a short half mile away where you can buy your food, dine out and have a doctor and dentist as you may need them. They are a husband and wife team and quite competent. The wife, the dentist, is doing a crown for me. Price, $350.
Bottom line. Massey is an excellent choice for anyone who wants an excellent living situation for a very reasonable price.
