Come experience an amazing, beautifully appointed solar-powered vacation house on St. John! Here you will experience truly green living and will realize how well you can live while remaining in balance with the world around you.A House of Open Arms features a Villa and a Cottage, each separate and private. They can be rented together or separately.
The Villa
The Villa is a spacious and private one bedroom, one bathroom retreat from the world. Gaze out at the fantastic views from your perch on the wide veranda. Take a dip in the pool and revel in the sun, wind, view, and sounds of nature. The garden overflows with life and color, and a constant ocean breeze rustles its leaves.
The spacious living room comes complete with a case full of books in which to lose yourself. Original artwork adorns all the walls, making sure your eye always has something pleasing to see. And two sliding glass doors open from the living room onto the veranda, bringing in the sounds of the ocean and cool breezes.
In the bedroom lies a plush queen-sized sleigh bed. You can go directly from the bedroom to the veranda, thanks to a third sliding glass door.
Topping it all off, the fully-equipped circular kitchen comes complete with a full refrigerator, gas oven and range, and an elegant table for four.

* stocked with coffee, orange juice, 2% milk, and Catherine's homemade granola at the beginning of your week

The Cottage
The Cottage is a perfect getaway for couples. Hikers, nature-lovers, artists, writers, and newlyweds will feel right at home in the lush, private surroundings.
It has a warmly lit main room with a wonderful bed, couch, and beautifully tiled breakfast table. The walls are adorned with original artwork, and the exposed wood beams of the ceiling rise up to enhance the airy and spacious feel of the Cottage. A small bookcase holds a collection of CDs and books, should you forget to bring your own.
The private outdoor stone shower off the bathroom makes it so the amazing views never disappear. It continues the attention to detail found in the rest of the Cottage, with beautiful textures and ceramic inlays.
The wraparound porch connects to an outdoor grilling area with a prep counter and sink. Tucked away from view just inside the entryway is a storage space with dishware and glassware, shelves to store snacks and food, and a small refrigerator to keep your all your goodies nicely chilled.

Facilities
The pool is for the use of the Villa's guests. Guests of the Cottage may use the pool if there are no guests staying in the Villa.
Activities
With over 20 trails on an island with only 19.6 square miles of land, you’re unlikely to run out of hikes before the end of your trip. On any of these hikes, you will find yourself surrounded by nature in a way unlike anywhere else.
The National Park also covers a large part of the island’s bays, beaches, coral reefs, and shoreline, making St. John a phenomenal area for sailing, kayaking, snorkeling, diving, or just relaxing on the beach. The tropical fish, coral, and underwater landscape are just as impressive as the landscape above the water. Crystal-clear waters make St. John a perfect place to scuba dive.
In addition to the fun-in-the-sun activities, you can elect to pursue other interests during your stay in St. John. From bird-watching to shopping in Coral Bay, Cruz Bay, or St. Thomas, to catching live music at one of the local spots, there’s a little bit of St. John for everyone.

Reservation and Cancellation Policy Reservations must be paid for with a 50% deposit at the time of booking. The remaining 50% is due 30 days prior to arrival. In the event of a cancellation, a cancellation fee of 20% of the total booking price will be assessed, provided that the dates can be rebooked. If the dates cannot be rebooked, the 50% deposit will be forfeited. Rates and reserved dates listed on website are subject to change without notice, but are guaranteed upon receipt of the deposit.
