Stonegarden Cottage nestles within a shady, tropical forest, high up the steep slopes of St. John's Bordeaux Mountain. At the foot of the mountain lies picturesque Coral Bay harbor; beyond unfolds a panorama of peninsulas, islands, beaches and glowing turquoise channels that run east as far as Virgin Gorda and the Anegada Passage. This is the spectacular view that Islands Magazine chose as the top spot in the world to watch the sunrise of the new millennium. Cooling trade winds flow off the Caribbean year-round. 
 
Accessibility: Sailing, snorkeling, scuba-diving and beachcombing are all just minutes from this beautiful mountain cottage. The house is easily accessible without 4-wheel drive via a smooth new concrete road, and is convenient to the restaurants and shops of Coral Bay (two minutes) and the beautiful beaches of the Virgin Islands National Park (12 minutes). Now equipped with high-speed wireless Internet service.  
 
Accommodation Options: The Upper and Lower Levels can be rented together or separately, accommodating up to six guests. The two levels are connected by a gated outside staircase, with separate parking and access for privacy.  
 
Upper Level: The fully-equipped, eat-in kitchen opens out onto the deck where you will dine or just relax while gazing at one of the most beautiful views in all the Caribbean, with an ever-changing light show of turquoise water and sundrenched islands. The living room offers sleeping accommodations for two adults or children on the comfortable queen-size sofa-bed, and has a separate full bath complete with garden shower and ample closet space. The master bedroom with queen-size bed and private bath has an expansive island view. The enclosed Caribbean "garden shower" blends traditional stonework with the tropical environment. Walkways from the front door connect into the stone paths and trails of Guavaberry Woods. 
 
Lower Level: For a couple looking for a combination of affordability and comfort, Stonegarden Cottage's downstairs unit is a perfect choice. Private and quiet, this charming apartment with stained-glass windows and beautiful views to the harbor is equipped with a fully stocked kitchenette -- 4-burner gas range with oven, microwave, half-size refrigerator, deep-freeze, and full size double-sink. Enjoy the comfortable amenities of a queen-sized bed, private bath with shower and dining table and chairs, as well as a dining deck with mosaic bistro-table and chairs, view and direct access to the trails of Guavaberry Woods. The lower level has its own separate entrance, driveway and parking space. It was built under the deck of the Upper Level, and has a cypress panel ceiling, giving the studio great insulation from any sound from above. Even though you will hardly know that there's anyone sharing the house with you, you may just want to introduce yourself. Several guests have said they made great new friends while staying at Stonegarden!

Everyone’s first impression of the house was even better than we all expected...We loved the surroundings with the beautiful stone pathway and all of the trees, flowers and shrubs! It gave us the island feel that we were looking for and we were not disappointed... The view from the deck was absolutely amazing! We decided early in the week that we would eat most of our meals at the house because of the spectacular view and peaceful setting. The cottage was extremely comfortable. It was very welcoming and a great place to come back to in the evening. The week went way too quickly and we all would love to return. It was wonderful!"
