Casa Cubuy is a special, tranquil place where you can contemplate the wonder and beauty of the rain forest that surrounds you. Sunbathe on granite slabs and boulders worn smooth by eons of cascading waters. Slip into a natural jacuzzi and let the water gently massage away the tensions of city life. Relax in a hammock on the verandah, read, or just watch the clouds float by in this setting of giant tree ferns, soaring breadfruit trees and wild orchids. Explore trails to prehistoric Indian rock carvings. Casa Cubuy is located above Naguabo in Eastern Puerto Rico.
Casa Cubuy offers a less stressful alternative than the busy North side of the El Yunque Rainforest. This quiet retreat lies nearly at the top of the road on the south side of the mountain. Casa Cubuy is perched on a hill above a river with many waterfalls. A short uphill trek from the house on a paved road brings you to the new El Yunque National Forest recreational facility, where interpretive guides may offerforest hikes.
We are famous for our fabulous fresh fruit breakfast! Served at 9 AM each morning, all guests sit together at the lodge table. Enjoy meeting other guests and sharing your experiences. A well stocked honor bar in the common area provides you with assorted drinks and snacks. Picnic lunches can be ordered as well. Spend your days hiking in this gentle sub tropical rainforest or relaxing on the porch or on a warm rock basking in the sun. After a few days of total forest immersion you may wish to venture out on the panoramic routes, or go to Fajardo and snorkel in the daytime, kayak in the bio bay at night.

We also serve dinner, with reservations. You can arrange to join the Ecolodge for dinner @ $18.50 per person ($12.50 for children under 12). You must sign up in advance . This is a complete meal with salad and dessert, the 'fixed' menu is posted daily. We offer a packed picnic lunch that can be ordered as well ($7). There are several restaurants down the mountain to choose from. The Ecolodge has 10 rooms and rates range from $110. to $125. a double plus 9% tax each extra person in the room is $25. We have Wifi, bring your laptop if you want internet access. No AC ( we are high enough to be nicely cool and AC would be redundant). We do not have TV. We are lucky to have the coqui, a small tree frog, which eats mosquito larvae and and gives us a mosquito free environment, you will not need bug spray here at Casa Cubuy. Our small gift shop offers T-shirts, jewelry and other incidentals.

Cancellations and deposits: We require a 30% non refundable deposit to hold a reservation, which will be charged to your credit card when you make the reservation. It is non refundable ( unless we are unable to provide the accommodations due to a hurricane or some such exceptional circumstance) If you cancel with less than 7 days notice before your arrival date we charge the entire amount to your credit card. We are holding this room for you and turning down other guests. That is why we feel it neccessary to charge the full amount with such short cancellation notice. A 9% Puerto Rico room tax is added to all room rates. There is a 2 night minimum stay. A $20 cleaning fee will be added for guests who wish to stay only 1 night. WE accept all mayors credit cards, traveles check and cash.
