Vacation Rental Description
The Holt is a large villa situated in an acre of beautiful gardens. There are fantastic views of the lush, tropical hills in one direction and the Caribbean sea and various faraway islands in another direction. Our popular choice is the apartment which can sleep from 1-4 at very competitive rates. We do not penalise single travellers, they are as welcome as others and if booked as one enjoy the whole floor to themselves.
The apartment is very popular for those people wanting to 'do their own thing.' You can stay in bed all day if you want. Or swim all day, the pool is only feet away! Or take walks in the hills on your own or with a guide (a very small charge for guide). There is an outside bbq for your use or you can eat at one of nearby (10 minutes) restaurants. Depending on the time of year you can pick bananas, coconuts in the garden and other fruits in the hills. You can take a boat ride to view the abandoned capital of Plymouth, well worth a trip - you won't forget it!Montserrat is a very, very special Island not yet 'Pepsied'or 'Macdonalded' or fast fooded..... its claim to be as the Caribbean once was is a perfect description.
Crime is rare and the locals go out of their way to be helpful.
Montserrat a special Island that should be experienced before the inevitable 'modernisation' takes hold and makes it just another Caribbean Island.

We can, though, point you in the right direction if there are particular activities you would like to participate in. Montserrat is very, very different from most of the Caribbean. Although certain activities can be organised guests usually prefer to 'do their own thing.' We are, of course, always here to help and usually have time to show you around.
We also know people who can help.
Generally speaking visitors do their 'own thing'. Don't worry about getting lost - it won't be for long and anyway a local will direct you in the right direction or more often than not insist on accompanying you to your intended destination.
Friday night is probably the most sociable but there are very few, if any, 'visitors only' establishments. You join in with the locals or not at all. The choice is yours.
