3 Bedroom Cottage in Duncans

Ocean Song is a quaint cottage surrounded by a lush and vibrant yard on a quiet lane that leads directly down to the beach. The cottage is ideal for families and friends who want to spend time together in a beautiful, relaxing setting - but can also work as a private getaway for a couple. 
 
The cottage provides the perfect vacation setting for sunning yourself at the beach, reading a book in the shade on the patio, playing cards at the kitchen table, sitting around the living room chatting, taking a walk in the surrounding bush and neighborhood (maybe you'll spot a mongoose!), or taking a day trip to Dunns River Falls. 
 
The cottages' three bedrooms each have an en-suite bathroom. The kitchen is ready for cooking, or you can ask Joan, Ocean Song's housekeeper, to prepare you an authentic Jamaican meal, or something more familiar - if you prefer. Wooden shutters on screened windows surround the house, allowing the cool breezes to flow through. 
 
The beach is typically not very busy, though the quiet, Caribbean blue waters will keep you revisiting for dips throughout the day. Not a problem when your cottage is only 100 yards away! The surf is normally very calm and ideal for allowing children to play. The sea also provides an amazing selection of interesting seashells and opportunities to observe pockets of sea life as you walk along the shoreline. 
 
A flat screen television, cable, DVD player, and video library can keep you entertained in the evenings. Or you can walk down to Fisherman's beach (100 yards) for a Red Stripe beer at the local watering hole, Leroy's, and listen to some reggae music. There is also a takeout place there where you can get plates of fried fish or chicken. During the day, local craftsmen sell their unique handicrafts on Fisherman's Beach, or you may find a fisherman to bargain with for some of his fresh catch.

Joan is Ocean Song's housekeeper, and her services are included in the daily rate. Joan cleans the cottage, does laundry, and she will happily cook meals for you as well as take care of the grocery shopping. Joan typically comes in the morning and leaves in the afternoon - she does not stay overnight in the cottage.

To be fair, the neighborhood of Duncans Bay, where Ocean View is situated, is a quiet one. Days can easily be wiled away swimming in the ocean, sunbathing, taking walks, and spending time with your friends and family. For additional activities, a guided tour or car rental can be arranged. Dunns River Falls (climb a waterfall!), Bob Marley's birthplace, and good snorkeling and scuba diving in Montego Bay or Ochos Rios are all relatively close destinations for fun day trips.  
 
Additionally, the town of Duncans is just a five minute drive or twenty minute walk from the cottage, where you will find a grocery store, a bakery, post office, butcher, hardware store, and a few restaurants/bars serving Jamaican food. Falmouth, a ten minute drive down the ride, has some historical sites and a few more amenities than Duncans.
