A luxury 3-storey, 3-bedroom modern house at Coconut Bay, a delightfully small Oceanside development of just 26 properties (22 houses and 4 apartments) at North West Point – just two miles from the top of Seven Mile Beach.
Coconut Bay is just a fifteen minute drive from Georgetown and its airport - just head for the famous Turtle Farmand continue another 200 yards! The properties are arranged around two swimming pools (you can use either!) in beautifully landscaped grounds right on the ocean front. Poolside furniture is provided, and there is a gazebo by each pool. Only a handful of the properties are used for vacation lets. The others are occupied by Cayman Islanders as their homes, let long-term, or used by their owners exclusively as their own holiday homes. Our property boasts three large bedrooms and will sleep six with ease - with a further two in the main suite on a sofa-bed. It has three bathrooms plus a further WC downstairs. It is fully equipped with everything you could wish for to make your stay completely relaxing and enjoyable including cooker, microwave, dishwasher, large fridge-freezer (with icemaker), washing machine and tumbledryer, TV (with cable), DVD player and CD Stereo. Indoors, the zoned air conditioning provides cool comfort, while outside the gas barbecue and the furniture on our private patio make al fresco dining a breeze.
Grand Cayman is only 22 miles long, and 8 miles at its widest. It lies South of Cuba, way out in the beautiful Caribbean Sea. Its principal industries are banking and tourism. The people are charming and incredibly friendly. The island boasts one of the safest societies in the world, and one of the lowest crime rates. Even dropping litter brings a $500 fine – so they don’t do it!
The average temperature varies only 10F all year. It’s hot and sunny - even for most of the “wet” season. The coral-white sands of the world-famous Seven Mile Beach, stretching all the way from the capital George Town up to West Bay, have to be seen to be believed.
But you don't have to (!) lay on the beach or by the poolside all day. There are watersports aplenty, and with a coral reef almost encircling the island, Grand Cayman boasts some of the very finest diving in the world. Dive Tech, one of the world’s leading technical diving centres, is a two-minute walk from Coconut Bay. Indeed, Turtle Reef runs right past Coconut Bay itself, putting fantastic snorkeling and diving only a few yards away.
Alternatively, take the ferry across North Sound to Rum Point for a beach-side snack and to relax in their hammocks, or sample one of the many superb restaurants for lunch or dinner. Kaibo, the Calypso Grill and Papagallos are particularly well-known and highly recommended, and The Cracked Conch (www.crackedconch.com.ky) is right next door.
For those with dollars burning a hole in their pockets, there is also some excellent shopping (all tax and duty-free) to be had - in Georgetown itself, or in one of the many Malls on the main Seven Mile Beach road on the way there.
