Wow!!!!
Not sure where to start on this fabulous surprise birthday trip, I had planned for my wonderful husband that was well deserved. We arrived in Barbados on Dec 4th coming from a cold climate of 35 degrees weather to fabulous 85 to 90 degrees. Once we arrive to our Villa in St. Lucy, it was more than what I imagine it would be. The villa was a place like home but away from home with all the amenities, accept for the blue ocean water right outside your bedroom door; and the view was breath taking from corner to corner. The steps along the villa lead you down to a private beach. A few minutes from the villa is a wonderful beach called (Mullins Bay) which has lots of beach activities an eatery.
The night life and sights to see were plentiful, right up the street from the villa is a local supermarket where you can get grocery or have a bite to eat or have a few drinks or just sit and listen to music under one roof, where the locals and tourist come to shop and hang out.
Down town in the main City of Bridgetown is great place for shopping, activities and yes partying in a place that is called St. Lawrence Gap, where you can hop from club to club to hear different music of your choice. Our favorite place was McBride’s and the two for one drinks were good as well as the food. The music was off the hook with live entertainment or a DJ, depending on the night you go. We also visit a place called the Harrison Cave, which was amazing to see and I totally recommend it. I also took my husband sailing on boat called “It Wasn’t Me” which was a catamaran luncheon cruise that included drinks and snorkeling with the turtles and to top it off, the captain’s wife made arrangements to have a birthday cake on the boat and the crew & guess sang happy birthday, what a surprise to my husband.
My husband and I had a wonderful time and we’re thinking about coming back real soon and by the way the people in Barbados are warm and friendly, but most of all helpful, we really felt safe there.
If you’re thinking about traveling to Barbados, this villa wouldn’t disappoint you. Easy access to city transportation is great, if you choose not to rent a car, however renting a car was wonderful.
