1 Bedroom Condominium in Sunset Crest

The rental property is a cozy, comfortable, clean unit within a 5 to 7 minute walk to the entrance to the public beach and is one block from the main beach road (with regular bus service to and from Bridgetown). It is immediately next door to Sunset Mall that has a local bank, a large duty free store, photo shop (with Internet service) and other shops. There is also a convenience store and coffee shop accross the street. The condo has one bedroom with a queen size bed and air-conditioning. The kitchen has a fridge, stove, microwave, and is fully equipped. The sitting\dining room has a couch (that converts into a small additional double bed), two separate lounging arm chairs, a ceiling fan, cable TV , DVD & VHS player and a CD-AM\FM radio unit. There is also a small breakfast table with four chairs next to the kitchen. The en-suite washroom has a shower only (no bathtub). Front patio has a table and chairs for lounging. There is also a private parking spot in front of condo. 
 
The property is approximately 5 minutes south of Holetown and it is also just 5 minutes north of the prestigious Sandy Lane Hotel, beach and Sandy Lane Golf Course (driving distances). Both are within a 10-15 minute walk from the condo. There is a local food van that parks directly accross the street from the condo, mondays to fridays between noon and 2pm and offers very reasonable priced lunches (fish, chicken, pork, etc.) and is a very good alternative to the more expensive restaurants in the area. There is also a brand new Boardwalk that runs from the Beachlands beach (5 mins from property) all the way to Holetown (approx. 1 km. distance) and has other smaller beaches along the way as well as beachside restaurants and bars. Green monkeys may also be seen in the neighbourhood, particularly early in the mornings near the Europa All Seasons Resort (2 block walk from the condo). They usually feed by the ravine area (ask the locals where to spot them!).

There is a small breakfast/dining table with four chairs next to the kitchen. The front patio has a table and chairs for lounging. There is also a private parking spot in front of the condo. There is a coffee shop (with free internet) accross the street and a convenience store that sells basic groceries, cigarettes, liquor, etc. just next door to the coffee shop. A larger duty-free store is also next door at a larger mall.

Sunset Crest is located immediately south of Holetown, the 2nd largest town in Barbados. Besides having the best beaches in Barbados for swimming and snorkelling, the area has a number of excellent restaurants appealing to all cultural backgrounds (Bajan, Thai, Indian, Italian, etc.). There is a medium size shopping mall immediately next door to the condo, an additional larger mall in Holetown that hosts the supermarket (10 min walk from condo) and the brand new "high end" Limegrove mall immediately north of the supermarket that hosts a cinema, high end fashion stores (Louis Vutton, etc.) and restaurants. 1st and 2nd Street in Holetown have a number of excellent quality restaurants and Lexy's Piano Bar is located on 2nd Street and has live entertainment daily (except mondays) and is a great social meeting place. The Surfside Restaurant (across the street from the supermarket) is the local football central for Euro games.

With respect to location and safety, you should note that the area is a blend of middle class homes as well as a "tourist" area with a few large resorts directly accross the street from the large mall (on the beach side of the main road) next to the condo, so it is very well patrolled by police on a regular basis. The main police station in Holetown is a 10 minute walk from our condo as well. Barbados actually has an extremely low crime rate and the most common crimes are break and enter (theft) type activities with assaults, etc. being very, very rare. Our own condo has a front patio that is open concept but we actually have two padlocks in the front patio entrance as well as an additional locked door to get into the condo from the patio. The window at the back of the condo (in the bedroom) is also reinforced from the inside with an additional steel grate to prevent any risk of break-ins through the back.
