Hut Pointe is a charming, family owned, eco-friendly resort featuring seven beautiful suites on lush grounds near Governors Harbour on the island of Eleuthera, in the Bahamas. Each spacious, fully air-conditioned suite has two bedrooms, featuring a king size bed in the master and two twin beds in the second bedroom, a large living room, full-service kitchen (microwave, refrigerator/freezer, gas stove and oven), dining area and bathroom. We also offer satellite television, wifi, telephones, ceiling fans and DVD players in each room and balconies/porches.

Historic Hut Pointe, was built in 1944 by the first Premier of the Bahamas (1964-1967), Sir Roland Symonette. Some of the notable features of this historic property are its solid stone construction, vintage hand-made Bahamian floor tiles in the lower suites, interior ceilings and roof rafters constructed with Abaco Pine and mahogany decks on the east side of the building. Recent renovations include many eco-friendly additions to the property including low flush toilets, low flow showers and faucets, active and passive solar hot water heating, energy efficient lighting and rainwater harvesting. With its historic significance and new eco-friendly additions, Hut Pointe is truly one of the most unique buildings on Eleuthera and a great place to begin your vacation.

Getting to Hut Pointe is easy! We are only about an hour from Florida and 15 minutes from Nassau by air. In addition to flights to the island, there is a fast ferry that runs to and from Nassau daily. The island of Eleuthera is famed for its deserted pink sand beaches, superb restaurants, lovely local people and is a great place to simply get away from it all. Historic Hut Pointe is centrally located 8 minutes from Governor's Harbour and 8 minutes from the airport, an ideal location for those wanting to explore the entire Island. With views of the Caribbean Sea and a short walk to the beautiful beaches on the Atlantic side, Hut Pointe is well suited for those who really want to experience the simpler way of life in the islands. • Nearest Airport : Governors Harbour, Eleuthera at 4 miles distance;
• Travel Info: You can fly direct to Eleuthera from Nassau, Fort Lauderdale, or Miami. Nassau is the shortest flight (just 20 minutes to Eleuthera) and has the most flights per day, so if you can get to Nassau easily, that may work best for you. Southern Air, Pineapple Air, and Bahamas Air all fly from Nassau to Eleuthera multiple times a day (see attached PDF for contact info, websites, and schedules) including flights to Governors Harbour at 8 a.m., 12 noon, 3:30, and 4 p.m. Fort Lauderdale is also quite good, with four airlines flying direct to Eleuthera: Continental, Twin Air, and Florida Coastal Airlines, and Yellow Air Taxi (see attached for contact info). Miami has two airlines flying direct, Continental and American. There are two airports on Eleuthera, Governors Harbour (GHB) and North Eleuthera (ELH). Governors is just 5 minutes from Hut Pointe. North Eleuthera is 45 minutes. One tip if you aren’t finding good flights/connections: For some reason, if you ask Expedia.com to book you straight through to Eleuthera, it will often provide few if any decent flights. But if you ask Expedia.com for flights to Nassau or Fort Lauderdale (for example), and then book the flight to Eleuthera on your own, you will have many more options.

Hut Pointe is located on the island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas. We are easy to get to...about an hours flight from Florida and about 16 minutes from Nassau by air. We are also serviced by a Fast Ferry from Nassau and can accept any type of private plane of jet at our local airport (Governors Harbour) which is about 6 minutes away.
