Wander down Willie Birch Road in Birch Hill to arrive at Spruce Meadow Cottage, a completely private secluded unpretentious hideaway surrounded by a bevy of trees and a lawn that slopes to the Brown River that connects to Malpeque Bay. A large deck overlooks the river and the farm beyond. Bring your kayak or borrow mine- and explore Malpeque Bay with its many inlets and coves. Minutes away is the Provincial Green Park with its fine shipbuilding museum and picnic area. Inside the cottage are two bedrooms (a queen and a double), bathroom, kitchen/living area with sofa bed. Tyne Valley is only minutes away where you can access the internet, shop at the convenience store,dine at a well known oyster restaurant, do your laundry at the laundromat, and stock up on wine at the liquor store.There is also a pharmacy and a gas station.Less than a half hour away is Summerside, the second largest city on the island. Cavendish, home of Anne of Green Gables museum is about 45 minutes away. Charlottetown, the capital, is about an hours drive as is the North Cape. Golf courses are nearby and the Confederation Trail just minutes away.
