We are located on a quiet street within walking distance of downtown Ottawa, half a block from the Rideau River Walking/Cycling Path. You will be warmly welcomed to our traditional home with up-to-date comforts. Shirley Samantha's in furnished with a mix of antique and contemporary pieces, accented with the work of Canadian artists and artisans. Our two guest rooms offer exceptionally comfortable beds, 100% cotton linens and a choice of down or synthetic pillows. Delicious breakfasts featuring Ottawa Valley produce and Cynthia's home baking, are served in the formal dining room, or on the deck in the shade of the maple tree, weather permitting. With advance notice, we will gladly accommodate special dietary requirements. Complimentary light refreshments are always available in the upstairs Study. Your knowledgeable hosts will be delighted to answer your questions about what to see and do in the National Capital. Business travellers will appreciate the use of the desk and phone in the Study and complimentary Internet access throughout the house.

The main floor living room is for guests' use as is the Study on the upper floor. The Study also has a desk, telephone and library of books. Bedroom/bathroom amenities include clock radio, terrycloth bathrobes and toiletries (shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion and hair dryer.

Shirley Samantha's is located within walking or short driving distance of Parliament Hill, the Rideau Canal (recently designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site), the National Gallery, Museum of Civilization, Royal Canadian Mint and other national museums. During the summer, Ottawa is the site of many festivals incuding the Jazz Festival, Blues Festival, Folk Festival, Franco-Ontarian Festival, and the largest Chamber Music Festival in the world. Local theatres provide outstanding venues for live music, plays(in English and French), and dance. The Byward Market abounds with foods from all over the world, and at night is a happening place with dozens of restaurants and clubs. Within half an hour guests can hike, swim, view the Fall colours or ski (downhill or cross country) in Gatineau National Park, depending on the season.
