Situated on Nova Scotia's picturesque south shore, this circa 1875 country home is located in the quaint Acadian village of Lower East Pubnico, 35-minutes from Yarmouth, the port of arrival for Bar Harbor and Portland, Maine Ferries. An excellent base from which to explore south-western Nova Scotia or simply for relaxing in the yard, experiencing the sea breezes and the sparkling waters of Pubnico Harbor. Overlooking the harbor and the West Pubnico marina at the front of the house and a meadow grassland from the rear, this 3-bedroom house has 2-baths, one on the main floor and one upstairs. The main floor consists of a fully equipped kitchen; a great room with a wood stove; dining room with seating for ten; center hallway; front room with a spectacular view of beautiful sunsets over the harbor; a bedroom and full bath. The upstairs consists of 2-bedrooms; a full bath; and a study/den. The harbor view can be enjoyed from all rooms in the house. The home is tastefully decorated with some antiques, quilts, hand-braided and hand-hooked rugs. Both bathrooms have claw-foot antique tubs. Most of the floors are the original wide pine boards. This house is 100-feet from and overlooks Pubnico Harbor. There is a walking trail along the harbor's edge. NEARBY AMENITIES: This authentic fishing village has an 18-hole golf course, restaurants, pharmacy, gas station, doctors' offices, grocery stores, liquor store, banks, museum, historical village, lighthouse, large old churches, library with free Internet service, several wharfs with many fishing boats. Six pristine, uncrowded, white-sand beaches are 25-minutes away on Cape Sable Island. The location is a photographers paradise. It is ideal and peaceful for writers, artists, historians, bird-watchers, beach combers and hikers.
