Owner Location Comment
This cottage is ideally situated in a treed meadow at the end of a driveway that curves beside a brook one mile from the famous Cabot Trail. The 500 acre property includes a private lake, streams, and a waterfall. There are no sounds of traffic and no lights other than your house lights to hinder your view of a glorious night sky. The local community has recently received a Lieutenant Governor’s Community Spirit Award for its fine studio craft shops and activities, and the cottage is five minutes from the North River where there is kayaking and hiking in a provincial park and protected area. Five minutes takes you to St. Ann’s Bay for swimming and beach combing, and fifteen minutes takes you to Little River fishing wharf and beach. Or you can drive forty-five minutes north to Ingonish and Highlands National Park with its numerous beaches and hiking trails. And if you like to golf, there’s Highlands Links in Ingonish, or, Bell Bay in Baddeck, thirty minutes south. Both are considered world class golf courses. The Gaelic College is on your way to Baddeck, where you can visit the Alexander Graham Bell Museum
