Vacation Rental Description
Chanterelle Country Inn and Cottages is named after the golden mushroom, Cantharellus cibarius, which grows in abundance over its 100 + acres. The Chanterelle mushroom is one of the most "choice" of all wild fungi because of its fragrant flavor. Cape Breton Chanterelles are shipped all over the world to some of the most exclusive restaurants and dining rooms. When they are in season, you will find this delicacy in many of the dishes served in the dining room at the Inn.
The discovery of these choice 'shrooms was a major factor in Innkeeper Earlene Busch's decision to move from Boulder, Colorado, and build the Inn. She originally came to Cape Breton to pick up a bedroom suite of handmade curly maple furniture crafted by Bob Lambie of the Dovetail Shop near Margaree and fell in love with the area.
Recognizing the healthfulness of the fresh air, pure crystalline water (we call it Chanterelle Champagne) and the serenity and pristine beauty of the North River Valley and St. Ann's Harbour, she decided to build an Inn dedicated to the values of a healthy and "green" environment.
YEAR ROUND COTTAGE RETREAT
Sharing the Inn's spectacular view of the North River and St. Ann's Harbour in nova Scotia on the Cabot Trails are three newly-renovated on ebedroom cottages. Cottage guests are invited to enjoy the privileges of Inn guests such as borrowing from the library, use of the gazebo and pedal-boats, walking trails, binoculars and the telescope. They are also invited to take snippetd from the herb garden.
The cottages all feature the following:
•Top of the line mattresses with 100% cotton sheets
•Fully appointed kitchen with breakfast nook
•Four piece bathrooms with 100% cotton linens and towels
•Original works of art
•Satellite television & telephone
•Hair dryers
•Verandah (BBQs available on request)
Two of the cottages have electric fireplaces and one has an air-jet tub.
•Bed choices are queen, twin, and king.
•One cottage is wheelchair accessible.
All are non-smoking and fragrance-free
Cottage Reservation and Cancellation Policy
•Cottages are rented with a 3 day minimum with a weekly rate available.
•A deposit of one half down is required to guarantee the booking with a balance due upon check-in.
•A two week cancellation notice is required for refund of the deposit. In the event of a cancellation, a $50 fee is charged.

Green Weddings - The property specializes in creating memorable events and is one of the best locations on Cape Breton in which to host a small intimate wedding event and reception. Mountain vistas, personalized service, all wrapped with a focus on delivering special events with a green and sustainable touch.
