Vacation Rental Description
Travel and explore the quaint village of Tofino from attractive and affordable suites at Summerhill Guest House. Located between sandy Pacific Ocean beaches and the town of Tofino, our custom built cedar home provides a private "home base" for families and couples visiting the West Coast of Vancouver Island.
Bordering the Tofino Botanical Gardens, our family owned-and-operated guest house is at the end of a quiet, low-density residential area. Our property views include a neighboring bird sanctuary (on an 80-acre forest preserve and wildlife management area), the surrounding natural rainforest, and Melody's flower gardens. From our front porch we frequently sight blue herons, bald eagles, & osprey soaring above the treetops, as well as many small birds attracted by our many bird-feeders. Blackbears, raccoons, and other wildlife are often close at hand!
From our .7 acre lot, we are just minutes away from MacKenzie's and Chesterman's Beach, & 3 km south of the town of Tofino. On a nearby cycling/walking path you may stroll to world-class restaurants, beaches, shopping and local amenities. Drive or take the Tofino Bus about 10 minutes south to Long Beach, the golf course and Pacific Rim National Park hiking trails.
Attractive, private, self-contained suites with convenient kitchenettes. Each suite has a private entrance, queen-sized bed, futon that can be opened to a double bed, cozy electric fireplace, and TV/VCR/DVD with movie selection. You will also find local books & Tofino guides, high-speed internet access, and kitchens well-equipped for cooking and dining.
Our popular KITCHEN GARDEN SUITE: Perfect for families, it is a completely private, self-catered apartment that has fully-equipped cooking facilities, an open dining & lounging area (with table seating up to 6; an extra fold-out cot, playpen & high chair if needed), full bathroom and separate bedroom with queen-sized bed. For up to 5 guests.
The newly-built SUNSET SUITE: A self-catering suite, nestled in our woodland backyard, with a private patio, porch
entrance, kitchenette, and featuring an extra-long queen-sized bed. A full private bathroom, plus an enclosed outdoor "surfer's" shower, add to your convenience. Open and bright--with windows on 3 sides, which view our perennial flower gardens and forest. Sleeping 2-4 guests.
We also have an outdoor lounging area, fire-pit, and picnic table for your use--a great gathering place for larger groups. Complete with hammocks, a large sand box, and badminton on the grass--our property has something for everyone. We live at the end of a wooded, residential area, centrally located between the beaches (1/2 km stroll) and town (2 km north) so that you can enjoy Tofino's attractions with ease. On a nearby cycling/walking path, stroll to world-class restaurants, beaches, bicycle & surf equipment rentals, artist studios, and unique shopping.
