A waterfront home just south of the 49th Parallel, with a low bank and walk-on beach (increasing in size depending on tides) consisting of small pebbles, abundant shells and soft sand; very good for beach walks. Abundant wildlife, such as: bald eagles, golden eagles, a large variety of ducks, loons, herons, oyster catchers, gulls, red shafted flickers, robins, California quail, along with seals and otters. Amazing and interesting activities occur at the entrance to Ladysmith Harbour, such as: log dumping from barges, sailing regattas, and other boating activities.  
Contains four bedrooms, two bathrooms, family room, two fireplaces, a complete kitchen, fully equipped laundry room, fully furnished with linens, this bright, north facing home has wonderful ocean, mountain and island views, with accompanying sounds. 
Moyna and Arthur welcome you to our holiday home. We are recently retired from Simon Fraser University and have interests in aviation and boating. We own a small single engine aircraft and some small boats. We have a nearby Gulf Island property with a shared grass airstrip, boat dock and cabins. If you are an aviator we have tie-down and hangar space at YCD (ten minutes drive from our house). You can also fly commercially to YCD from anywhere in the world and rent a car or take a short taxi ride to the house. We are interested in gardening, archaeology, aerial imaging and wildlife.

Our house is 20 metres from the ocean with swimming, shell collecting, crab fishing and beach combing. Air conditioning is not necessary as the ocean breezes keep the house cool. The house is fully equipped with all linen and facilities as you would set up your own cottage. We also have internet, large screen TV and BluRay high definition.

Vancouver Island is #2 in North American island destinations following Cape Breton Island. It is #10 in world island destinations. There are amazing gardens, many wineries, excellent fishing, whale watching and some of the best "hanging about" in the world. Come explore!
