Vacation Rental Description
Kitsilano Cottage, the structure, is a heritage designation qualified 1910 Craftsman bungalow, typical of the Kitsilano neighbourhood. It has been meticulously restored and ethically upgraded to provide modern living convenience while maintaining architectural integrity with its origins.
A Suite @ Kitsilano Cottage is a single, upscale, self-contained, garden level suite, of approximately 825 sq. ft. There are two bedrooms. One has a king size bed and the other a queen size bed. There is, a double sized sofabed in the living room. The furnishings are a blend of antique and authentic hardwood reproductions in the Craftsman, Arts & Crafts, Mission or, as our guests from the United Kingdom fondly refer to it, Macintosh style.
The suite has a private entry, patio, separate private phone line, flat screen TV with DVD/VCR and digital cable, Broadband Internet access by Ethernet and WiFi, bookshelf stereo, a single bathroom with tub/shower, full kitchen facilities, in suite laundry facilities and bicycles with helmets, for guest use. Daily rate guests, staying over a week, are provided weekly linen changes and cleaning service. Breakfast is not served. Also for daily rate guests', the suite is provisioned with, fresh fruit and baking, coffee and tea preparation supplies for a complimentary, self catered, continental breakfast, for the first morning. Beyond that, we recommend the many wonderful restaurants, within walking distance. There is always the option of using the suite's very well appointed cooking facilities for preparing meals. There are several grocers, within easy walking distance, offering a good variety of favourite, meal preparation ingredients.
Please note, A Suite @ Kitsilano Cottage does not allow pets, however we can recommend boarding services for the same. Note also that we are a non-smoking facility. While cigarette smoking outside is permitted, absolutely no smoking indoors is allowed.
Kitsilano District - Clearly one of the most desirable urban residential neighbourhoods in the world. It is cosmopolitan and near the warming influence of the waterfront, keeping the weather in a moderate range year around. It is located in the heart of Vancouver and Greater Vancouver, close to downtown and the University of British Columbia. It is typified by its myriad Arts & Crafts design homes on shade tree lined, quiet residential streets, lush gardens, green spaces and its chic business areas. Most of the very finest restaurants and nightlife venues, in all of Greater Vancouver, a city renowned for its great food, are within walking distance. Both wonderful boutique shopping and several beaches, again all within easy, safe walking distance, supplement this.
Granville Island – A must on any visitor’s list, Granville Island is built around a Public Market and a devotion to the Arts. Theatres, artist studios and fine dining venues abound. Or rent a boat or kayak and tour the beautiful waterways that define this city’s natural beauty.
Downtown and Stanley Park – Just across the Burrard Street Bridge, an Architectural highlight itself. The downtown core offers the cosmopolitan appeal of Robson Street, shopping at some of the most recognized names from Paris to Rodeo Drive and boundless nightlife, cultural venues. Enjoy the wonderful mix of architecture from the earliest days of Vancouver to today. All this is immediately adjacent the jewel of the crown, Stanley Park. Whether you choose to walk, roller blade or cycle its Seawall or visit the Aquarium there is something here, for everyone, through each season of the year.
