It serves the function of a true country retreat, a fresh water fishing lodge or a base or gateway for wider touring and a host of winter and summer tourist activities. Luxuriously appointed amidst an abundance of snow capped mountains and glaciers, sparkling lakes, rivers and waterfalls and breathtaking alpine vistas, Drumkeeran House is ideally suited to family gatherings and vacations, weddings and smaller business retreats.
Drumkeeran House is a 5,000 sq.ft. log lodge built in the classic square cut dove-tailed style out of massive Western Red Cedar timbers. It occupies a five acre property with over 800 ft. of lakefront strikingly set on the headland point of Ivey Lake, a trophy fly-fishing lake, in the beautiful Pemberton Valley of British Columbia.
Accommodations consist of 6 spacious en suite bedrooms, a Great Hall with massive baronial fireplace, Country Kitchen, second bar/kitchen, entertainment room with wood stove and library. The professional standard kitchen has granite countertops and top quality appliances. Wi fi broadband internet - satellite HDTV. The house has old growth reclaimed Douglas Fir flooring throughout. Bathrooms are marble or travertine tiled with underfloor heating. Drumkeeran is filled with first class furnishings and antiques and boasts a fine art collection of original works by famous Canadian, First Nations and European artists.
On the beautifully forested and landscaped grounds, there is an eight person spa and hot tub, By the lake there is a private dock with canoe and kayaks for our guests.
Drumkeeran House also has a full-time caretaker/concierge on the property in a separate caretaker's cottage.
With an enormous number of attractions within a relatively short radius, Drumkeeran House is the ideal "gateway" to explore a vast region of British Columbia. Its ready proximity to Whistler and to the Lower Mainland offers international travellers in particular the opportunity to sample the varied attraction of the Province with relative ease.
Summer activities include golf, fishing, hiking, mountain climbing, bike riding, horse riding, glacier flights, gliding, canoeing, kayaking, white water rafting, and swimming.
Winter activities include cross-country and downhill ski-ing and boarding (Whistler), heli-skiing, snow mobiling, ice climbing and snow shoeing.
As a special winter wonderland bonus, there are usually several weeks where Ivey Lake itself is frozen so as to allow for a range of activities on the ice right at Drumkeeran House.
The lakeside setting gives guests the opportunity to take advantage of the fact that Ivey Lake is the only trophy fly-fishing lake in the Lower Mainland area of British Columbia. In addition, Drumkeeran House provides ideal quarters from which to set out and fish literally dozens of nearby rivers and lakes.
