Rocky Mountain Escape offers private, secluded log cabin accommodation and a variety of year-round, nature-oriented activities such as hiking, horseback riding, canoeing, fishing, whitewater rafting, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Nestled amongst the front ranges of the great Canadian Rockies, adjacent to Jasper National Park and vast, undeveloped Willmore Wilderness, we cater to folks looking for a quiet, scenic and non-touristy spot from which to enjoy our mountain environment.

Cabins: We currently have three guest cabins at the 'Escape, each hand-crafted log, 480 sq ft with an open design (only the bathroom is enclosed), and visually isolated in order to enhance guest privacy. We provide all bedding and linen, of course, and kindling and firewood is stacked on your deck for use in the stove. The cabins are equipped with a queen-sized bed, sofa (1 cabin) or double fold-down futon (2 cabins), a full bath (tub/shower unit with hot and cold running water and indoor plumbing!), a wood burning stove and double propane burner for complimentary coffee/tea/hot chocolate.

Meals: As we are in a relatively remote location and do not want to encourage Mother Nature's less lovable creatures to investigate a cabin, there is no cooking allowed in my cabins. Instead, I serve hearty, wholesome, family-style meals out of a central cook house. The cook house is the rustic part of the operation, being a simple frame structure. I cook basic cowboy cuisine and bush baking, and am always happy to modify my menu to suit individual guest preferences.

Activities: Season-dependent, we offer hiking, horseback riding, canoeing, whitewater rafting, fishing, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Guided day hikes and/or x-country ski or snowshoe tour are included in our rates. Also included are use of the 'Escape's canoe, x-country skis and snowshoes and transportation to and from trailheads. Horseback riding and wilderness hiking can also be enjoyed as multi-day activities into Willmore Wilderness.

There is a wood burning stove in each cabin; two of the stoves have glass fronts, which are similar to a fireplace, but much more efficient. Kindling and firewood is stacked on the deck of each cabin for use in the stove.

Cabins are cleaned between guests, but not during guest stays. We provide all bedding and linen, and encourage a towel reuse program.

The cabins are stocked with complimentary coffee/tea/hot chocolate, along with cups, glasses and cutlery to serve hot/cold drinks, as well as scented candles and bubble bath

There is an outdoor firepit, which we frequently use in the summer months to prepare the evening meal. The campfire can also be enjoyed to roast marshmellows and share stories after dinner.

Peak season rates (June 1 to October 1): $125 per adult per night, based on double occupancy. Rate includes your private cabin accommodation, all meals, guided day hikes, use of the 'Escape's canoe and transportation to and from trailheads. Rates for additional adults per cabin and/or children 6 to 16 years of age are half-priced, inclusive. There is no charge for children 5 years of age and younger.

Off-peak rates (October 1 to June 1): $100 per adult per night, based on double occupancy. Rate includes your private cabin accommodation, all meals, guided day hike/ski/snowshoe, use of the canoe/skis/snowshoes and transportation to and from trailheads. Rates for additional adults per cabin and/or children 6 to 16 years of age are half-priced, inclusive. There is no charge for children 5 years of age and younger.

Cancellation Policy: $50 if >30 days before arrival; 50% if within 30 days of arrival; full price if within 48 h.
