Vacation Rental Description
A special and unique place on earth is Nature’s Valley, a small village in South Africa that is locked inside a South African National Park, the Tsitsikamma National Park on the Garden Route, and is surrounded by forest, lagoon and the pristine beach of the Indian Ocean. A sanctuary of peace and beauty where one can be in touch with nature and away from the stress of urban life. All the senses are stimulated here with spectacular landscapes and forest, and the smell of the sea and the sounds of waves and birds. Wild life is a part of this environment and bush pigs, wild buck, and an array of birds pass daily through the gardens. At 100 paces from Nectar Cottage whales and dolphins can be seen from the beach. A wellness health retreat set in the forest amongst the Vervet Monkeys is walking distance from Nectar Cottage. A refuge for the soul!
Nectar Cottage is a spacious self-catering house that sleeps 8 persons and is fully equipped (4 bedrooms, 2,5 bathrooms, lounge, kitchen, terraces and large garden with BBQ). Outside there is a BBQ/braai, suitable in both summer and winter and inside a cosy fireplace for those cooler evenings. There is a cleaning service available on request.
Nature’s Valley offers a myriad of activities in the area such as swimming, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, cycling, birding, whale watching, diving, fishing, shark diving, sailing, cruising, paragliding, parasailing, micro lighting, abseiling, bungee jumping (the highest in the world, a breathtaking 216 metres for a full 7 seconds), and visits to numerous nearby parks and resorts. Monkeyland, Birds of Eden (with the world's largest dome which spans a gorge of indigenous forest) and the Elephant Park are all within 15 km of Nature's Valley.
Next door to Nature's Valley is Stormsriver with its rugged coast, swing bridges and panoramic restaurants. Plettenberg Bay, South Africa's foremost nightlife town with its 130 restaurants is just 30 km away and 40 km further you have the bustling town of Knysna. North of Nature's Valley is Oudtshoorn with the world-famous Cango Caves and ostriches, and the Route 62, perhaps the most diverse wine region in South Africa. This is truly an area where you can idly watch whales and dolphins while lazing on the quiet beach or venture out for a new experience every day.
